How come you put Brashear on top of Belak?
Brashear has NO wins so far this year. Why is Godard that low? Laraque is the beast allright. He outwrestled-outmuscled arguably the best one – Orr. I wish he (Laraque) were a bit more a team player… What is McGrattan doing there? It is 2009, not 2005. Let him come and prove ... Last edited by Valeri; 10-05-2009 at 12:45 AM. |

My top 10 list starts the same way it finished last season... But because Fritz never made the team all the guys below him move up a place and Steve MacIntyre joins the list at 10.. I'm going to up date my list every month till the end of the season..
It starts out like this.. Wade Belak Wade will have to have another stand out year to take top spot again. He's more than capable of doing it but with a few more top tough guys playing this year in the Western Div it will take a big effort to retain top spot.... Donald Brashear Only real lose last season was to Belak and he's started off decent enough this year taking on Sugden twice in pre season and Godard who has the potential to be champ one day.. George Laraque The guy probable is the best fighter in the league at the minute when he's in top form and fighting regularly.. I think Laraque will easy be in the top 3 come the end of the season again.. Eric Godard Out of all the guys that have a chance of becoming champ this year and upsetting the 3 above is Godard. He's a regular fighter and on his day can beat anyone in the league. His only probable is consistency. He can go on great runs and then clearly lose to a much lesser fighter, if he's able to stop that this season he has a great chance of going all the way... Colton Orr Very much similar to Godard in the consistency levels and if he wants to get to the very top he would need to make sure he's on top form every fight.. Sometimes Orr is a little to predictable in fights coming in swing the right hands all the time, and the top guys know once they have the right under control Orr is very much limited as what he can do.. I think he will have another decent season though at his new team... Derek Boogaard If this guy is healthy and if he gets a decent number of fights under his belt against decent guys then he should finish top 5 easy, possible go all the way. But with Scott in the same team and his injury probables Boogaard could go the other way this season.. At the minute he starts mid table.. Raitis Ivanans Not the most exciting fighter to watch but he's been one of the most hardest to beat since he came up to the NHL.. The guys so strong and is able to manhandle a lot of fighters who can't deal with his strength.. Raitis though will need to have a good season as with all the guys coming back who were out injured the top ten list will be harder to make this season.. Jody Shelley Mister inconsistent.. He able to hang with anyone in the league but he's also then able to lose to anyone of the top 20 or so guys.. I think Shelley will find it hard to make the top ten this season.. George Parros Parros will be active as ever but like Shelley he will be a win some lose some fighter and will also struggle to make the top ten this season.. Steve MacIntyre This guys starts my list at 10 and had a decent year last season... Apart from Godard dropping him and putting him out with a broken eye socket, MacIntyre looked good the rest of the year.. He was the best in the AHL a few seasons ago and has a great Minor league fight card.. He will be one to watch I think this season... Others I would expect to make the top 10 this year but will have to prove themselves again after a season out is Brian McGrattan and D.J King.... |

Solidified Top 5.....
Elite class....top shelf in specific rank.
1.Godard 2.Brashear 3.Belak 4.Orr 5.Laraque I see 6 thru 8 being able to challenge for top 5 at anytime less injury/consitency......not neccasarily 2nd tier guys but guys that have the ability to take out a top 5 at anytime. 6.Boogaard 7.King 8.McIntyre This class i see as a notch below the top 8....or 2nd tier if you will......& in no specific order. 9.Shelly 10.Parros 11.Ivanans

Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of his since he took Probert on 3 times in one game.. But It looks to me that he could be so much better than he is, only he lacks the consistency of the top guys in the league... One night he looks great against a good fighter the next he loses clearly to guys he should be beating.. If he got the consistency going he could be up there with the Godard's, Orr, Boogaard's at the end of the year..

Shelley deserves recognition for his longevity but more importantly, with what he did last year.....Ivanans took it to him here with a clear W. Scott TKO`s Parros in his best outing yet....he figured out how to string his opponent out & use his reach effectively...both with the jab & power hand. a couple more outings like that & he`ll bump Shelley from the last group. 9 thru 11 taking shape with Ivanans/Parros/Shelly respectively.
