Wade Belak is pushing for a Top3 finish this year, and he has quite the March schedule ahead of him to further prove himself as one of the best.
10th - Donald Brashear 12th - Colton Orr 14th - Todd Fedoruk 16th - Raitas Ivanans 18th - George Parros 19th - Jody Shelley 24th - George Parros 26th - Jody Shelley 28th - Raitis Ivanans Parros, Ivanans and Shelley.....in 6 games he faces those 3 guys twice.

That is a tough schedule, isn't it? I can understand your allegiance to Belak as I'm the same way with Shelley. But I just don't feel, at least at this point, that he's even a top 5 guy. He's definitely an excellent scrapper, and has been for a long time. But look at his fight log this year. With the exception of Boogaard, who he matches up quite well with, he hasn't fought any other top ten guys. It's just not that impressive. Except for his possible bouts with Shelley, I do hope he does well as I tend to favor older fighters, long proven. P.S: He may have to fight Westgarth, bad news for everyone except Kings' fans, as Ivanans is injured I believe |

If Belak's knockout over Brashear doesn't make Wade top 3 I don't know what does.

More than one fight. If he is convincing in this fight, and I haven't seen it yet, I could now see him move to the top 5. But he is not a top 3 guy. |

The top ten thread is going to get a good wourout the next couple of days I am going to sleep on it tonite. You know the 24 hour thing and then try and put it together. I had Belak 6th in my last one. This tko over a top guy has got to move him up but how much. His card lacks a bit of quality. Cote, Rupp, Jannsen, Hordichuk, Stortini all pretty solid but not one is in my top 10. sayin that he beat all of them........

in the past two years he has wins over orr, boogaard, brashear, parros, Draw with Laraque. That's pretty impressive.

And then look at his losses. It's academic since this is a ranking thread for THIS year, and not living in the past

Actually, since you were speaking of multiple years I think he (stinky) was including those years with the losses. He's lost twice this year, and it wasn't technically a draw with Laraque though realistically one could say it was. The loss to Sutton, especially, last year was suspect. Let's not argue about it. He's having a great year. You believe he's top 3, I say top 5 now. We just disagree |

First of all, going into this year who the hell thought anyone can beat Derek Boogaard, TWICE? That's something we've only seen from Georges Laraque, and Belak has fought Laraque SIX times over the years with roughly 6 draws. Who the hell has fought Laraque 6 times and NOT come out of it beaten and battered? Belak has easily the best record against BGL, other than of course Donald Brashear. And as for the Champion Donald Brashear, well nobody has ever stood up to Donny like Belak has. He easily has the best record against the Champion out of anyone. TWICE in a row he's beaten the Champion. He bloodied him up the last time and now dropped his ass this time! In the past 3 seasons against Brashear, Laraque and Boogaard, Belak has 4 wins 3 draws and only 1 loss against those three. By far the best results ever for anybody that has even come close to fighting those three. Your use of words like 'not impressive' is a joke. I'm sorry Tomales, but you just aren't seeing things clearly. Two wins over Cam Janssen this year including a TKO just 28 days ago still doesn't do it for you? How about his wins over Eric Godard, Jody Shelley, Riley Cote, George Parros, Darcy Hordichuk, Andrew Peters, Eric Boulton, David Koci, etc... And then there's Belaks great 4-fight series against Colton Orr which currently stands at a draw. To say Belak doesn't fight Top10 guys and even going as far as saying he's not even Top5 does only 1 thing I'm afraid, and that's prove that you're an idiot. BTW, remember Belaks two fights with the All-Time King, Bob Probert? Get your head on straight man, Belak holds the best record against THE BEST fighters in the NHL.
