Don't get me wrong, he knows how to get the crowd up and at 'em. But I would just rather see him scoring goals and leaving the fighting to Belak. Who isn't really good for anything other than fighting.

But like you said, when you are loosing as badly as we were against the Wild it was nice to see him go for it.

You're no fun, he's 20x more fun to watch fight than Belak.

Tootoo is one of my favorite players and the reason i started to like watching the preds play. He throws huge hits and fights alot of bigger ppl, cuz hes so small. I love watching him play. You can always watch a game and see something happen everytime he touches the ice. Id love to see tootoo on the Habs but since he isnt Preds are my second fav team, he brings excitment to every game!!

He's the kind of guy you hate and root against when he's on another team, but would love to have on your team.

Working on becoming an old school type agitator. They stirred things up, but, also dropped them

Hate to say it but I like him. Tough little mutha that knows when to get to it. Can play the agitator role without being a bitch like Avery and Cooke.

Tootoo is one mean little dwarf. He might just have the best balance on his skates in the NHL. It is inhuman the way the kid can stay on his feet. I love the kid and wish he played for the Senators, without a doubt.

Best Fighter? Tootoo?

Pound for pound fighters maybe but I would'nt take him over real heavyweights like BGL, Brash, etc. As far as what he brings to the table in overall skill(hits, offence, defence) and entertainment level, he may well be cream of the crop. Annoying as hell but like everyone else is saying, I wish he was on my team. His physical play reminds me of another smaller Native player from my day, Stan Jonathan.

Funny, I expected this to be a b1tchfest full of why people hate Toots. I'm pleasantly surprised to see some honesty. For all the fans that hate him, most (assuming they know hockey) would love a player like him on their team. Many won't admit it, but that's the case. He's good for his team, and I think he's good for hockey.
As for his thoughness/fighter prowess, I've watched his whole professional career and definitely think he's ONE OF the top pound for pound fighters. He would surely be at a disadvantage against BGL or another top heavy (and I wouldn't include Brash), but he would hold (and has held) his own.
Bottom line...He's fun to watch.

It is interesting that Trotz a couple of weeks ago called out the Canucks for "crossing the line" with some of their hits against the Preds, when Tootoo is the master of questionable hits. I figure he will light up a few Canucks with some serious charges when they next meet (he didn't play against the Canucks last time). Talking about liking players when they are on your own team. . . the World Juniors are HUGE in Canada (as many of you Canadians will attest to) and both Tootoo and Steve Downie were total fan (and that is with all of Canada) favourites when they sported the Maple Leaf with the Juniors and went around terrorizing youngsters from the rest of the world.

Really, I think he's a bit of a throwback and that stands out in the "new" NHL. He can score a bit, he can scrap, and he'll take any chance he gets to run your face into the boards. That's what hockey is all about to me. I love the guy, he's one of the few that if he decked Crosby or Malkin I wouldn't care that much about it. That's what he does, he's a goddamn hockey player through and through. Wish there were more of him around.

I agree completely. He plays hockey the way it's meant to be played, if you ask me. There was a time when nearly everyone played hockey like that. Being at Preds' games, it's neat to see...the fans get excited EVERY TIME he steps on the ice. Regardless of what's going on on the scoreboard, the crowd is energized every shift he has. That's because you can pretty well count on some kind of action when he's on the ice.

k im not trying to bring race into the matter.. but native players usually play native hockey growing up on reserves.. and native hockey is exciting.. they play with aggression and goal scoring comes second.. im from a city.. but i have played in many reserves and played in native hockey tourneys.. and it seems like you have two guys that can score the rest go out and hit fight and give it all they got to make it exciting (tootoo, Cheechoo, King, Mirasty,etc..) and you can deffinetly tell that has help shape the game tootoo plays which makes it very enjoyable
