Scott Parker
It's his turn here.
Scott Parker Throwing some statistic; 97-98(Kelowna Rockets-Team WHL) 71GP/30G+22A=52pts/243PIM, post-season 7GP/6G+0A=6Pts/23PIM Saying huh for this one. 99-00(Hershey Bears AHL) 68GP/12G+7A=19Pts/206PIM, post-season 11GP/1G+1A=2Pts/56PIM I have to say he have had a potential for nice goal scorer. But he unsucceed then, we see. He isn't still so horrible player. But his lame number of goals hasn't help him in todays NHL. Parker was a very big promise in Junior, not big promise by a goal scorer but fighter. In the NHL he hasn't succeed so well though. He has a potential to win anyone, but most of his fights are lame draws. The next Probert? nope. But Parker is surely an Elite-fighter nowadays. If he gets a change in the NHL, he can to make a very good season. Avs's new heach-coach T.Granato likes more of enforcers than ex-coach J.Quinneville. |

Thank God Granato is coaching again. He may actually give Scott a chance to play. He still has offensive ability and was a first round pick for a reason.

I'd always wondered why Parker was drafted so high. He did put up some nice numbers in juniors but as brookbanktuff said, you don't get as much room in the NHL as you might in juniors.
I think that Parker has the potential to be a Top 10 fighter in the NHL if he plays in more games (I really only saw the Avs play him against the Flames last season) and if Parker can stay healthy. He does tend be somewhat injury prone which really hurts his shots at being a Top 10 enforcer.

Parker is still somewhat onf an enigma even after ten or more years in the NHL. The guy is capable of beating any fighter at anytime, no question. Saying that I don't honestly remember a fight that he has dominated in quite a while. He had a few decent tilts with Godard last season but they were probably 1-1 with no real clean winner in either bout. Injuries have played a significant role so they have no doubt diminished his career. Anyway lets hope we see some names like Boogaard, McGrattan, King, Roy, Shelley, Parros etc.. May be the scariest looking fighter to strap them on in the NHL. Lets not get to silly either, he will never be a scorer in the nhl.

When you goes looking Parker's look(a big facial-hair)as it seems looking him like some killer or monster but in my mind Parker hasn't ever been so dangerous/scary looking guy.
He looks about sensitive guy to me. A guy who don't kill a fly. Btw, i haven't ever heard anything story about him outside of the rink, meaning some fight. I have heard some stories(for example G.Odjick)of some fighters who has fight outside of the rink. It's a harmful to me but... it isn't usually a fighter's fault. We'll see what do happen in next season. Does he a comeback to Top-10 list? How much he gets playing? How active he is then, when he gets the change? |

I worked with Scott's father who got himself transferred to the area when Scott came to the Avs originally. His Dad says he got his scrappy temperament from his mother
There was only one good enforcer on the Avs in my opinion and that was Simon. Lacroix was stupid to give him up. |

I have to agree that Parker is still a bit of an unknown after all these years. With the revolving coach in Colorado, it seems like he has to prove himself every time they get a new coach. The injuries haven't helped, but I think the coaching situation has hurt him worse.
Hopefully, this year, he'll get a chance to show what he's made of...

He never lived up to the hype as a fighter when he entered the NHL.

I look forward for the next season and hope Parker will get some ice time. I really wanna see him fighting Boogaard or McGrattan.
