When Scott supposedly declined Thornton a few years ago it was a big deal to the usual suspects. I guess there are different standards.

I remember the beef they had. Scott declined Thornton, Thornton declined Scott and same last year on the rangers. Any guy can run his mouth from the bench. I would love to see lucic fight him regardless of the outcome. Gaustad manned up last season and took one for the team. Thorts took one for his team there, lucic should respond back. There's no reason he can beat up on carkner but not go with Scott.

The way I see it, if none of the Bruins engage Scott next game then the sabres/Bruins series will change. Boston has physically dominated the sabres especially last season. The momentum would shift in favor of the sabres and the bruins wouldn't seem as tough to most people anymore.

I see all "sides" of it.... It's not really that cut & dry IMO.

1) I'm sure the guys who write his paychecks wouldn't want him to risk getting injured... Be it a concussion, broken hand, or whatever would take him out of the lineup or alter his game.

Of course that leads to the "spot picker" label. I guess the question is: does not fighting every guy who challenges you- especially when you are a 1st liner and he is a 4th liner- make you a spot picker?

2) As a fight fan, and a Buffalo guy in particular... I think he should fight Scott. I think a lot here do... but frankly our opinions don't matter.

Do I think he's "scared"? No... but I do think he sees what happened with Thornton, and he's not chomping at the bit. Not many guys ARE, if not just for his sheer size. I also think that Looches all offense zero defense slug-it-out style may not work well for him against a guy with that reach. Again, just my opinion.


IMO the Miller incident is past. If Lucic doesn't take liberties I don't see any need for Scott to force the issue. If he crosses the line... Then he should man up.




On a side note McCormick was in the lineup today. Hopefully he is in against the Bruins. MacDermid/McQuaid would be decent match ups for him.

Only team to beat the B's in regulation this year.

But I'd rather see a competitive team that takes no sh1t from anybody, instead of this low-energy, can't clear the zone crap that they've been feeding us lately.
