Im with the guy who says take the suspension and equalize the situation. the problem today is #1.everyone is too afraid of the rules, fines and suspensions #2 most players are selfish and watch their teammate get beaten without given a darn. there are few old school players / coaches out there left in the nhl, and its a shame. i would almost take any old team from the 90's over any team now. enforcers knew their roles and had no qualms about it. today =

Wish Scott was still here with Chicago; when the Hosers were a little soft after the Cup season, he was the only muscle on the team. We all have our favorites but sometimes all you hear about him is that he's not all that good and so and so will take him. He always answers the bell and he's good team guy.

Scott is the new king of the enforcers after his handling of Thornton. Heard on the radio this morning Scott was talking smack to Lucic last night and he wouldn't even make eye contact. LOL-Karma is a bitch,Bruins...

It wouldn't be the first time Lucic refused to make eye contact.

I love reading old posts and commenting on them after the history is written.

In MANY threads, I have questioned John Scott ( long time before he came here ). After watching him get dropped by a body shot or slipping or whatever it was against Orr.. all I thought was " Your kidding? Everyone gloats about this guy? Go find Peters and re-sign him! '.

Low and behold, Thorts is going to be out for a while with a concussion. Never lost his lid during the fight and was still put down without even throwing a single punch.

I dont think Lucic nor Chara would WANT to fight Scott. Im not on Scottts bandwagon as I dont think hes a ' champ ' or anything. Hes beaten Westgarth and Engeland pretty badly and now put down Thorts.. What else has he really done? Sure those are quality guys but they arent all ' goons '.

I think Scott is still questionable. Does he get dropped again by another body shot then go out and totally dominate someone else? Is he solid in his roll or will he lose to lesser foe's and dominate top named guys?

Too soon to judge but this season hes in a division with some of the top guys and ( apparently ) hes on a team that will keep him in the lineup. He might finally be able to show what he has, if hes really lee-jit or not.

Meh. I take what John Scott says in the media with a grain of salt.

The smack-talking took place between the team benches and was reported by Paul Hamilton, Sabres beat reporter, on WGR 550. He relayed this info the morning after the game is he was down near the bench at ice level. Meaning Scott was looking and talking smack at Lucic directly on the Boston bench and the man wouldn't even make eye contact. BTW-Scott is from St. Catharines, which is just over the border from Buffalo. He grew up a Sabres fan. No one I'd rather have fighting for the Blue and Gold.

Sounds to me like your ready to jump on the Scott bandwagon but just want to make sure he is legit first. Don't hurt your ankle

I strained my back jumping on the Scott bandwagon.

The point is that he was- IMO - largely untested against top HWs. He did exactly what he was brought here to do- he neutered the Bruins , at home , for that game at least. He scrambled their HW's brains... you know, the guy everyone said he should fight instead of Lucic? Funny, but after he does that, the usual suspects are saying it should have been Looch or Chara. I guess those two didn't get that memo, because neither one of them even gave Scott a mean look.

Scotts AHL card was decent and his NHL card is decent. he got here a little after the HW's were really active.

Sure, on some nights he didnt pursue fights or maybe he even turned some down. He is a police man not some bad ass guy going out there to throw his weight around.

I have thought this whole time after he had like 5 fights that yeah this guy can fight, and very well. Maybe if he was 6'2-6'4 for most of his opponents he would suck but hes not, hes super tall and it works. he is and has been legit for awhile. Am I a fan of his? Not really, he fights and is big which is cool and this year showing us a little more. hope he keeps it up.

There was nothing but air and opportunity between them. After Scott beat Thornton down Lucic was free to give it a go. He didn't.

When Scott supposedly declined Thornton a few years ago it was a big deal to the usual suspects. I guess there are different standards.
