Riley Cote Vs. Daniel Carcillo

This is one match up I have always wanted to see but now that they both play for the Flyers, I doubt we will for a while if ever. So I was just wondering how everyone thought a top middleweight like Daniel Carcillo would do against a lack luster heavyweight like Riley Cote.

Only time these guys faced each other, it seemed like Cote chased him around all game, and even delivered an elbow to him, and got no response. I think Gretzky had the leash on tight that game though.

I think the series would be closer than most expect. There's not a big size difference and they both have pretty crazy styles.

I say the series goes 4-2-4 in favor of Cote.

carcillo seemed scared of cote all through the minors. would never fight him no matter what riley did to him. I personally think Cote would destroy him.

I would gauruntee he wouldnt destroy him, nor do I think carcillo is afraid of him, the kid faught Ratis Ivanans.

Carcillo didnt oblige Cote in there only season meeting last year, because, yes Gretz had Carcillo leashed.

I do think Cote would get the best of Carcillo, but not by a wide margin at all.

I saw Carcillo plenty of times when he was in the AHL playing for Wilkes-Barre. Those were the days that my family was partial season ticket holders as well as went to a number of other individual games. I don't think Carcillo was necessarily AFRAID of Cote, but he definitely avoided him. But those were also the days that he had Dennis Bonvie to shoulder most of the dirty work.

I'd rather see Carcillo vs. Gratton, or Carcillo vs. Too too. (yes I know JOSH and carcillo are in the same system) but I'd like to see it.

I'm a big fan of both these guys. That said, Cote would handle Carcillo 9 times out of ten. Riley didn't win many fights this year, but every one was against a top ranked HW. Everybody brings up Carcillo having the nutz to take on Ivanans, other than that, his card is free of top ranked guys. Riley routinely fights better HWs and actually beats them from time to time. Riley took on BGL a couple of times, and we all no what BGL said about Cote.

This post is no way a bash on Carcillo - gotta love the "Madman", but Cote would beat him.

This comes down to a power game, since no one is going to play a lot of defense in this match up. Cote has proven he can give and take some serious punches (Orr, Godard, and co) and would shrug off most of Carcillo's shots. Even though there's no real size difference, there's a reason we separate two guys like this. Barring a fluke TKO/KD, the legit HW beats a good MW almost every time.

Cote goes 5-1-4 in some slugfests, but that's even if Carcillo keeps coming back for more.

While I do agree Cote would win the series of ten, Carcillo does have an impressive fight card. Guy often fights out of his league like fighting Hordichuk, Boll twice, went toe to toe with Strudwick, and Davison(only fighter I dislike).

Carcillo didn't have anyone to shoulder the dirty work for him in his NHL career other then the season 06-07 when he had Gratton. I'm not sure if that's what you're implying but if you are, that argument doesn't hold any cool-aid.

Carcillo is not afraid of anyone, such a silly statement.

As much as I like Carcillo I'm sure Cote would handle him more often than not.
