oliwa's a little outclassed by the big guns but definately game. i'm hoping for about 3-4 oliwa/naz fights this year for the european heavyweight title. also shelley is an old school enforcer who was furious with the marshall butt end and subsequent war last year with ny. the league cuffed the rematch but i doubt shelley's forgotten or needs much of an excuse to feud with new enforcers to the wild west. for no explainable reason i see a good rivalry between oliwa and m.johnson as well.

I think they have fought once or twice in the AHL...I'm gonna need someone to back me on this cuz I'm not 100% on that. As for how Oliwa will do against Laraque, I think Laraque will pretty much take most if not all their fights, and pretty handily if you ask me. Although with Oliwa's size, he always has a chance...

They have never fought on the NHL level, that's for sure...although that will change this season for sure, now that Oliwa is a Flame. Exactly. It is a given that they'll fight at least a couple times this season. |

Guys,
I can't believe no one has mentioned this yet..... ...... If Oliwa get's back on "the juice" then he could battle Laraque to a draw or even a win. It's obvious that Laraque is on "the juice" and Oliwa was on "the juice" during his Devils days. If I were Oliwa I would start back up on "the juice". He has been inconsistent the past 3 seasons, and it's now or never for him. If he has another mediocre year this year, then forgetaboutit, Oliwa is done, finished, history. He must rebound this year. The strike will cancel the 2004-2005 season, so a lot of NHL players will defect and go play in the WHA2 for the 2004-2005 season. As far as Oliwa vs. Laraque for this year ??? Well, I'll guess that they will fight 4 times and it will be 2 draws, one win for Laraque, and one win for Oliwa. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Oliwa will realize "the juice" helps any and all enforcers out. Just take a look at Tony Twist his final 5 years [o] I am one of the few Oliwa fans on this website's message boards. I still have faith in the guy [)] |

if oliwa beats georges once this year it might warrant upset of the year. oliwa better hang on, tie up the left, and wait for the refs. if he opens up he's going to find himself joining sawyer, belanger, and grimson in the couch club, staring blankly at the tv for the next 5 years. the class difference here is massive, oliwa helps calgary but is no answer to laraque. the only way oliwa could send a message to edmonton would be to jump staios or ferguson, and then wait for his beating. steroids or no steroids.

oliwa imo is the most overrated fighter in the nhl. Being a Ranger fan i saw all his ranger fights last year. I dont think he won but one fight. I was so glad when they waived him that I almost peed my pants.Calgary can have him.
