3. Saying hockey enforcers are in better shape then MMA fighters in a complete joke.
I'm gonna have to stop you right there because you couldn't be more wrong. I pretty sure it's a well known fact that hockey players are probably the most in shape athletes on the planet.

This is all I'm going to say: anybody on here, anybody who claims that "the majority of" or "lots of" or "any hockey player who trains MMA in the off season" would be able to compete in a professional or amateur MMA league is not only completely and utterly ignorant, but borderline retarded as well.

NO successful mixed martial artists "train in the off season" I've trained judo for 13 years and I've competed at nationals and several international tournaments. I play street hockey sometimes, and I used to play a little bit of ice hockey when I was younger. I would easily be able to compete with the professional athletes that play in the NHL.

There, now that you've seen it put that way, does it not sound like a completely idiotic statement? You people need to shut the **** up cause you have no idea what you're talking about.

To the dude who said Frank Mir has terrible conditioning: you're a ****ING IDIOT the man was in a terrible motorcycle accident and is just now starting to get back into the shape he was before the accident, and he's still fighting for the title.

You have no idea what it takes to make it in MMA or any combat sport, because I would be willing to bet that the majority of you have never practiced a combat sport.

It's ****ing brutal. Judo is one of the most "gentle" of combat sports, and I've had to undergo 2 major surgeries, which put me out of commission for over a year and a half together, and I just turned 19 in April.

Stop discussing things that you have not the slightest clue about, and talk about hockey, because that's what you know.
scared to quote me??? and are you a pro? no so you have no clue what the **** you are talking about. how do we know if a hockey enforcer would get wrecked or win in an mma fight? and yes frank mir is in horrible shape

Btw--what does it matter if I have been in a fight or not ?? How is this relevant to the claims you have made. You are a joke. You continue to talk about **** you have no clue about.
yes they all did and they say you should get off this fukking site....

and this whole argument was about fighting, so have you been in a fight before or not? cause if you havent just go away cause you shouldnt be saying things you havent experienced

You seriously, seriously must be retarded dude.
Hockey players train everyday, yes.
They don't train MULTIPLE ****ing hours a day on fighting, they don't wake up in the morning, and go fight.
Just stop posting in this thread, you have NO idea what your talking about.
Like, do you not understand that MMA fighters are TRAINED fighters, they fight rounds. Whats the longest hockey fight you've seen? 2 minutes? 3 maximum?
yeah, MMA fighters go for 5 minute rounds, thats 1 round and thats longer then any hockey fight you've seen.
Like, I can't believe you can't get it threw your thick skull that these guys are professional fighters, when most hockey enforcers are big dudes on skates who can punch hard, thats it. very few of them have any REAL fighting skill.

Billy Bob also thinks Laraque has a weak chin, although he has no evidence to back up his claim.

Its common ****ing sense that they wouldn't do well. I'm not saying that EVERY Mixed Martial Fighter would beat Every Hockey Enforcer 100% of the time.
Do you not realize that MMA isn't just boxing? Like, ANYONE who goes into the ring with no Grappling/Submission skill at ALL, is going to get annihilated.
Take the biggest ****ing Enforcer in the League, Derek Boogaard, and put him agaisn't any heavy weight who has skill in submission, and Boogaards going to be leaving the ring after taking a nap, or having something snap.
its common sense.
