Why do you think people like Gratton, Cote and the likes do open up like they do, because they have no problem getting punched in the face.
perfectly said... this shows that some ppl just sit here and type and never have been in a fight before. ppl who fight and like fgting like to get hit. if i didnt i would just hit a punching bag. i want to see if i can take your best punch and still beat the shiat out of you. bgl doesnt like to fight thats why he wrestles, how can you argue that?

Because they're stupid and dont know how to fight.

They remind me of the type of guy that just goes into a fight wailing away like a chick throwing about slaps all the time. HOPING to god they land a KO shot. That's not how you go into a fight. Sometimes you're forced into it but when you can control things, why wouldnt you?

While I was a little disturbed by all the backpedaling in the Godard fight and I said some stupid things I shouldn't have, there is no way I would categorize Laraque's season as disappointing. Can't hold an injury against him and he did have 9 fights in 33 games, which is pretty good by todays standards. Sure I wish his fights against other top tier heavies would last longer, but it's his health on the line, not mine. He is far from my favorite fighter but he could still beat anybody on any given night. Fighting Fritz was very honorable.

Parros disappointing? Also news to me. I am a big fan and I thought he did fine and got a nice contract because of his play. 23 fights, +9 rating, 3 goals and five assists. It is tough to get big wins these days because there are so many fighters out of the Andrew Peters mold that don't even face their opponent.

This may be the worst thread title ever. Neither name should be associated with the word disappointing.

People who fight & like fighting, like to get hit? Really? What do you base this on? Do boxers just swing away at each other all the time? How about MMA fighters? Why do they train so much learning to defend (boxers or mma fighters) ?

So everyfight BGL is in , he wrestles? Well he certainly has made alot of money being a "hockey wrestler".

not everyone, but alot of fighters have said they enjoy it.
I'm pretty even Mike Brown (WEC fighter, not the NHL player) has said he enjoys getting hit.

Ok hammerhead. So you base it on....yourself. Great, so you account for what.. 0.00000000001% of the population?

And lets be clear here.. this is what I responded to , from what you said---- "ppl who fight and like fgting like to get hit" .

Hey I agree that there are people out and around who like to get hit. That I have no doubt about. But Id say they are very much in the minority.

I will say too, that I think fights that are "more open" are far more exciting.

See, you either didnt get me or you misread, surprise, surprise.

You stated the guys like Cote go into every fight the exact same way, no matter their size mismatches or equals..

I said that was because they were stupid. You're acting as if just going into any fight flailing away is some sort of noble warrior mentality, when in fact it's a desperate mentality by a no talent fighter who is just hoping one of his wild punches hits the target. Meanwhile guys like BGL among others have a style that they adapt to different players, and it works for them, which is one of the reasons why they win, and thus proves they know how to properly fight.

Both Domi and Ray knew how to fight. Ray was a bit cheap to say the least but he adapted a style that works well for him. Domi was just a little monster who if he had 4 more inches on him would pratcically own the NHL and everyone in it.

Cote just goes about doing the exact same thing time and time again and it costs him because all he's doing is flailing away without the ability to properly protect himself. His style doesnt suit him at all.

Well then you're an idiot dude, who doesnt know how to fight, because that one time you allow yourself to get hit, might be the one and only time needed for your opponent to knock you right the **** out!

God, you're dumb.

not true, i base my entire fighting style on swinging openly.
And I've been in many sparring matches and never been knocked down.
You see, we're not all glass chinned frenchies
