Lucic vs. Thornton: Who takes 10 fight series

As a boston fan I have wondered. Who would take a 10 fight series between Shawn thornton and Lucic. Personally I think there would be about 4 draws, 4 Lucic wins and 2 thornton edges. I feel Lucic would overwhelm him at the beginning of a couple fights and others thornton would tie him up or edge out a win.

I'd think Lucic's size and punching power would likely overwhelm Thornton eventually, although Thornton does a great job of neutralizing his opponent in nearly all his fights.

That said, I have a reputation to uphold. So I can't get myself to hand out hypothetical losses to a Bruin.

I'm sure Chara or Ference would jump in if things got too lopsided anyways, thus rendering the fight void. Nobody wins or loses.

All the while Derek Dorsett takes on Brad Marchand and Gregory Campbell.

The world would collapse into itself and Jack Edwards is the last voice it hears.

I'd go 7-3 Lucic.

The better question is, who would take a 10 fight series: Milan Lucic or Jesus H. Christ.

I'd go 4-3-3 in favor of Lucic. Christ puts up a good fight, but Lucic's size and strength is the X-factor in the end.

Fixed the title up a little bit

If we're talking as of 5/23/13, I would honestly say this ends up a draw 5-5-0. I could see Lucic taking W's if he's pissed off enough. And Thornton would take W's on tactics.

Lucid would take it to Thorts now that Thorts is toward the end of his career. Prime vs Prime Id say Thornton would hold the edge.

I think Shawn Thornton would take it to be honest.

Not that he would pummel Lucic by any stretch of the imagination, but Thornton is a better technical fighter and I could see him winning a bunch of close fights against Lucic. Nothing decisive though.

Lucic would take the series 5-3-2. Lucic is just plain meaner than Thornton. Thorts would get all sentimental because they're former teammates and Looch would drop him as soon as he let his guard down.

I just don't see a scenario where Lucic pummels or pounds Thornton. Thornton is too experienced, too smart a fighter. He's fought every major HW of his era for the most part and has seen so many different styles. Nothing Lucic throws at him will cause Thornton to worry. Thornton's ability to tie up will also be a factor here. I see these fights going down in typical thornton fashion, mediocre draws or edge wins. Maybe an edge to Thornton overall but an average series of fights.

Thornton has stood in there with some of the best over the last few years. John Scott aside, he managed to handle himself adequately.

Lucic on the other hand hasn't tested himself against enough tough competition to show that he's capable of handling himself time and time again. He can still be a dominant fighter, but has to show it more consistantly before I'll start giving him edges in a series like this.

7-3 Thornton.

I see Thornton taking a series against Looch because he's such a smart fighter. He'd probably use similar tatics against Looch that he did against Kassian. Id say 5-2-3 Thornton.

thornton has way more experience but its not like looch is a rookie at fighting either

8-2 looch
