Asham would beat him silly then Lucic's hands would hurt too bad after that and his gloves in cement.
1-0-0 Smashem......

Lucic takes Asham in the series. Asham is a good fighter and has the ability to upset any fighter in the NHL as he has good power in his punches and throws quickly and is very aggressive. But Lucic is just a wall, huge upper body and I see him standing his ground and exchanging with Asham and Asham getting knocked off balance or dropped at least once in the majority of the fights.
Lucic 5-3-2 |

I'm a little surprised at how many think this series would be really close. Don't get me wrong, I like Asham a lot, but he wouldn't be in great shape here. His rep is largely built (and rightfully so) on beating most middles, and doing well against Chris Neil and Cam Janssen, but if you notice there is a similarity there. All of those guys are around his size. He doesn't fare quite as well with the bigger guys with longer reach. I'm thinking this would be somewhere in the 4-2-4 range, maybe 5-1-4. Something like that. The good news is I have a strong feeling we will see this fight this year. Next Thursday perhaps?

The height and weights on this site are f*cked. Lucic is closer to 6'4 220 and that was his rookie season weigh in. Most people bill him closer to 230 now.

asham is being underrated in this thread. he is the middleweight champ. he knows how to fight and has alot of power. looch has a beek and i could see asham nailing that a couple times. asham is one of the most accurate punchers in the league i go asham 3-2-5 it would be a close matchup |

Sorry, I just can't see it. Being the best fighter on a team, doesn't necessarily make him a heavyweight, regardless of who he fights (speaking of any fighter, not only Mirasty).
Theres gotta be more to it , than the opponents one chooses to fight. Far too many variables to me. Lucic still the winner for me though. Too strong for Asham. Last edited by ChiefJunior; 10-14-2009 at 09:13 PM. |

I guess my question to you would be what would Asham's advantage be? Lucic has an equal or better card (if you include pre-NHL), and has suffered fewer losses. |

I dont doubt it for a second. I have stood next to him an I am a lot taller than he is. I also doubt Chara is 6'7''. I am sure some of these stats are padded a tad.
