John Scott

Including the top 3 and all the other greats both past and present I can't find a fighter in the NHL or who was in the NHl who can beat John Scott. I watched numerous fights he had and I can't find a single loss. At 6 ft 8 I can't find anyone who could of beaten him. He hits hard and has strength. I saw Him beat George Parros easily which is not an easy task and I couldn't find anyone who looks like they could even get in close enough to him the big guy. He made players such as Probert look the size of gary Howatt and even big Mitch Fritz couldn't land one on Scotts chin. Looking for a fighter who could put up even a close fight with him. Not looking for someone to beat him but throw some names of fighters who could of at least made him know he was in a fight (imho)

In before the "he hasn't fought a top 10" crowd.

I still am amazed at the no takers of John Scott. He is still undefeated in the NHL.

I think there would and will be a few who could take him in a good bout. Darran Langdon for one, maybe a prime Godard, Chris Simon, Brashear, Laraque, Domi, Probert to name a few but those are all "what if" hypothetical's.

Agreed. If only he would fight the other undefeated monster in the NHL and settle all these questions once and for all.

Gotta fight someone worthwhile to be considered worthwhile yourself. Fritz and Scott drew so your ridiculous notion of "oh help me find a fighter who would at least let Scott know he was in a fight" is nonsense. Scott also wasn't able to beat the likes of Mirasty.

If he was fighting top flight competition, there are many that could beat him. Probert? Come on. He was raping people and they weren't Brad Staubitz and Zach ****ing Stortini or whoever the **** it is that scrubs their way onto Scott's fight card. Nothing against him, but his card in the NHL is pathetic and he really hasn't proven much besides having non-heavyweights get wrecked by a 6'8" behemoth. Too bad there aren't many very good fighters in the league. Or maybe I don't know what I'm talking about... maybe he's just another Nick Fotiu who everyone is afraid to fight except the guys who don't really know how to fight.

He has to stop fighting players like Sheldon Brookbank and Kevin Westgarth if he wants to make it to the top 10. I can't put someone in a top 10 if he never fought a legit top 10 HW. George Parros isn't part of my top 10 even though he is a HW.

Ha, I thought the other thread you started where you anoint him current champ was ridiculous but now we're talking all time? Geez...

As I said in the other thread, there's a handful of guys right now who I think would beat him in a series. As for all time, there's no need to go back further than a couple years, as Boogaard would have lit him up, and was a far better fighter for a big guy. Brash and BGL also would've had their way with him. It might not have been pretty, but if those guys were able to have their way with Boogaard you can count on them tuning up Scott also.

Nada

I am honest enough to be a homer, I watched Boogaard for many years and thought he was near the top,,,He spent time working with Scott when they were both here in Minnesota..But to be honest teams are going away from the SHT and In the past several months they are sending them to the A or releasing them....The day of the super heavy is over..fighting will allways be a part of the NHL but it will be the Heavys and middles and mark my words....they will get rid of the heavys before long.....The Parros's, the Westgarth's, etc etc are history... guys like Rinaldo and so on will dominate the future of fighting in the NHL.....My big pet peeve is the instigator but will the Concussions in the league that will never be eliminated.....As long as there are Canadians playing there will be fighting but mark my words fighting as i remember it (I go back to the 60's) is over, i know its sad but this is Scotts last year of a 2 year contract....even money he goes to the A or retires because of his education

Enough Rambling

This site doesn't have enough bandwidth to support a post that might include all of the all-time fighting greats who would dismantle Scott in a scrap.

Scott's lucky when he narrowly escapes the wrath of Cam Janssen.

My Scott threads were written and put on different threads. The administrator moved them both to this thread so I apologize for 2 Scott posts one after another. I saw the Scott fight with Fritz and Scott open up Fritz pretty good. Yes I know Fritz is a bleeder but that fight was not a draw. Just recently Scott Knocked Parros down with in 10 seconds. Parros who is a legit HW has fought many of the other HW mentioned but no one Ko'd him with the ease that Scott did. In my opinion he's #1 but I'd like to see him fight Chara or someone his size. Colton Orr who was the top HW was ko'd a few times and I don't think he would be able to land anything on Scott as Orr's chin was not one that could withstand a fighter like Scott, Shelly and Carkner took care of orr. Lucic couldn't stand in with Scott as he ruined his rep when he showed fear fighting Orr and asked the linesmen to stop it. Half the NHL teams don't even have a fighter ala NY Islanders. The rangers are going with Prust and to fight Scott would be a mismatch. Until Scott gets cut, knocked down, etc this undefeated HW to me is the undisputed HW champ. It's not his fault that no one wants to step up and take him on.

Yup... and I'm undefeated at solitare! WOOHOO! You gotta play to lose.

Its like saying Jim Sorgi was the best QB in the NFL for the last decade. He only played after the Colts were winning by 30. "He never lost!" Yet... he never played when it mattered.

McGrattan would mop the floor with Scott. Too bad Scott is afraid of the janitor.

There is no way in hell I'm crowning anyone with 1 fight all year. ONE FRIGGIN FIGHT againts S Brookbank does not make anyone the champ in my book.
