Fraser McLaren and Trevor Gillies
Can anyone tell me the status of these two? I have both in my goon pool and neither has suited up. Last I heard Gillies had a groin problem and McLaren had hip surgery, but supposedly Fraser is ready to go. Does MCLaren stand a chance of sticking with the big club this year?

Oh great! Thanks for brightening my day. I really thought this would be a breakthrough (in a goon sort of way) year for him with the new contract. Yes, only NHL activity counts. I also have Matt Martin so maybe Trevor's loss will be mitigated by more fighting activity by Matt. Thanks for the info!

McLaren should be close to returning soon. Almost guarenteed he will start back in the AHL and I doubt he sees much, if any NHL time this year.

That's kinda what I saw as well, he didn't really seem interested in getting into a scrap being down in the game. Who knows Westy could have said he wasnt allowed to go but he rarely turns down a fight. A couple more game for Mclaren and I think he'll be droppin' them pretty regularly.

A little update on McLaren.
He has played 3 games now. The coaches have looked to play him against tougher teams. Hes played against the Kings, Dallas, and the Blues. He sat so Andrew Murray could play the other games. Coaches are using him in a strategic way like almost all coaches besides the regulars like Parros. I wish he would fight, he has showed his presence with Westgarth a little. He came over to him in a scrum and Westgarth wanted to go and McLaren didnt it looked like. In the Dallas game Barch was gone by then so Mclaren skated around and kept the peace with the semi blowout. No customers though. Reaves and Mclaren had pushing and shoving a few times and words but nothing came of it. the game was 0-0 or 1-0 blues the whole game. Come on McLaren get a scrap or two!

Sharks are playing so soft.
Clowe fought Prust, Engellend, Barch. Seems like Clowe is only fighting out of emotion these days and no more fights jsut for the hell of it. He is too good of a player. Vandermeer hurt. McLaren turned down Westgarth and Reaves didnt accept (end of****) then refs blew it. No AHL call ups who scrap like Mashinter, Mac ect. McGinn had 5 goals in 6 games or something nuts like that. Murray hurt Winchester got his pay back against Volplatti and then ever since has scored goals and skated well. He was even put on top line from time to time and has done great! It is crazy. He even got to shoot in the shoot out tonight and hit post. SO wild. Basically Sharks are not playing physical at all like the past, its really sad. They look so bad. Vandermeer kind of new when to fight and would do it (Thornton, Barch, and fridge in preseason) but he was a scrath often before then they gave him a chnace and hhe played well then he got hurt. The Sharks are easy to play against right now/year
