I used to hate Brashear, but not anymore because he gives other teams reason to dress enforcers. He keeps stirring games by his actions. Not my favourite fighter, but definately very good thing having him in the new nhl!

I agree with you. Ruutuu would destroy Brashear and Laraque. Both at the same time.

Brash in top 5 of ALL TIME, and i've seen more hockey than any of you boys.
I had season tix at Spectrum 1972-1977, you know...those 3 hour games.
Look at him shirtless, he's more cut than anyone except maybe G.L. I still play myself on ice and i've fought a couple young a-holes and held my own(took the game suspension too) against them. I'ts hard to keep balance, gotta do the old Schultzie left hand on their right upper sleeve move. I've met Donald, he's cool and he just had a birthday. Happy birthday Donald.

Brashear

In my opinion he's the best "Toe-to-Toe" firghter in the league. Peters caught'em but Donny can't win'em all, but will take take down most. Brashear will fight anyone and clean up most of them, he doesn't play for my team but will always be welcome to sign with the "Blue and White".
Cheers Donny and keep throw'n!!

Brashear Deserves alot more respect then he get's now a days. The guy has fought in this league for 12yrs+. He's fought a prime probert, A prime Chris simon, tie domi, just to name a few. he's exciting to watch, even though his style before was hug and throw to the back of the guys head. But hey it worked for him. He's still playing, and beating up on the young guns. Still one of my favs to watch fight.

I do wanna see a rematch with him an McGratten. Maybe another andrew peters brashear rumble. wishful thinking on my part

Brashear is quite a fighter (even if he does 'turtle'), but he's a d1ck. He's a dirty player, and he has always been a dirty player. I have no respect for a guy like that.

Hes definentally one of the top fighters in the league, but hes not the best toe-to-toe fighter, he dosnt fight toe-to-toe. Hes got his own style which works for him...

Im not taking anything away from Brash, but as soon as he tried opening up against Peters he got drilled.

Brashear is definately one of the best out there right now, but he does pick his spots almost more than any heavyweight out there.....I'm a flames fan but living out west I get alot of Canuck-Oilers games and he used to duck Big Georges all the time when they were both out here, it used to drive me nuts....Georges doesn't fight as much as he should either but he would chase Brashear up and down the ice consistantly challenging him with no luck, it was embarassing.

Donald Brashear is my new hero!

Well, mabey not my hero but I love what he is bringing to the table this year.
Everyone on this site or anyone who has posted here for a while know where I stand on Brashear. I never liked Brashear and always hated him, so this post might come as a shock to some of you. I still dont like the guy due to some of his past but, I love what he has brought to the NHL this year.

Brashear has turned into a new man. I love the fact that he is acting like the "bully".
He has been out of control this year , starting brawls, enforcing, fighting on a nightly basis and ripping the new NHL, going after star players , and overall making the new NHL instering again.

He also LEADS THE LEAGUE in FM's thats a shock considering Brashear is up there in age at 35 and is still fighting unlike other fighters who are older (Chrissy Simon), Brashear is still starting brawls, stirring up things, ect.

He has also came out and ripped Bettman, which I liked. He seems like a changed man this year and it's a bit of a shock considering how old he is.
He's being the "bully" and making other teams dress enforcers against him. He is putting fear into other teams, he has been answering the bell, playing dirty ,cheap ect.

Brashear is turning this New NHL into a few fight filled ugly games.
I dont know why, but I actually enjoyed him dusting his hands off, and then punching that p**** Ward in the face.
In the past I never would not have liked that, but with the way the NHL has gone I'll can deal with it.
He is making this euro trash league intresting to watch again.
He will push around players, and intimidate and try to scare other team's star players.
Hopefully Brashear keeps this up because if he does he might beable to save some enforcers because teams will have to dress enforcers to counter Brash.

Anyway you look at it, if you are a Brash hater or a Brash fan, you have to give him his props on what he has been doing this year in this garbage "New NHL".

Couldn't have said it any better.Imagine if he fought like this his entire career, his respect factor with hockey fight fans probably would have been higher.

Protecting someone of value like Ovy has probably put a fire under his ass to do something - thats what it looks like anyways.

Wont change my overall view of Brash, but its deffinately a welcome suprise to see him fighting and playing like this.

I hope he fights McGrattan tonight. If he doesn't, it's the same old Brashear to me. I would like to believe that he has turned a page, but I have learned to be NOT optimistic when it comes to Brashear.

Eh.

I think with Derek Boogaard suffering his second consecutive loss in 6 fights, people are starting to look elsewhere for someone to cause a lot of mayhem and be dominant this year dropping the mitts. Donald Brashear seems like the perfect candidate for them to go to. Right now he has a ton of fights and a decent (not great) record. The only thing that tarnishes it, is several losses (Roy, Peters, Belak) and a few questionable opponents (Shanahan, Vishnevski, Bois, Downey).

He certainly still isn't the champ, but he's a good fighter, who has been fighting a lot lately and has been fairly successful. That's something everyone will cling to in this day and age.
