Donald Brashear

Why is it that Brashear threads always end up locked, this one probably will to. Brashear is arguably top five fighter in the league. We want to hear what people who know what they are talking about, have to say about the fighter, not from people with 27 post who come in and don't like brashear or who's favorite teams player got beat up by brashear. face it everyone's favorite fighter, or fighter of your team will lose. you don't have to make up stupid excuses like brashear beat up a starting player, spit on the ice, or hit someone while they were down to assume he lost a fight, that doesn't justify losing a fight, a win is a win no matter who they fight or what happens after the fight, or the majority of the fight while standing, what happens when a player is on the Ice doesn't change a winner.

He beat Orr already,
started a brawl and beat Vishnevski
drew Belak and lost to Peters
beat Parros
murdered Downey
apparently Beat Orr again
fought Shanahan
sucker punched Aaron Ward

not a bad year thus year......

Brashear is having a great season for us fight fans... He had 13 fights all of last year (including Pre-season) he alreaddy has 9 this year.

His card goes like this:

Orr (Win)
Vishnevsky (Win)
Bois (Win)
Parros (Win)
Belak (Draw)
Peters (Loss)
Downey (Win)
Orr (Win)
Shanahan (Win)

6-1-1 so far this year. Impressive in my book especially considering he's 35 now.

That makes it easier to tell the morons apart. Don't get me wrong Brashear doesn't always win, but the same people constantly talk negatively about him despite activeness and win %.

Yeah he's getting up there but he's still a top-5 guy even at his age.

Yea as much as he pisses me off, he is one of the best to ever drop em. I will admit that. People who say otherwise are true Brashear haters.

If I had to rank him all time, I would put him somewhere around 8.

Unforgiven 12-31-2006 03:01 AM

Eh.

Meh. I put the haters in the same category as people like Rob who will defend him until they're blue in the face. Sure, Brash lovers are pretty vocal right now, but where were they last year when he wasn't even .500?

pbag 12-31-2006 09:23 AM

Well Brash is an oasis in the desert right now, ewen if he loses or wins his last week has been outstanding. Thank you Donald Brashear.

refightfan 12-31-2006 09:50 AM

Brashear is top 5 in the league right now and top ten all time. People don't like him because they claim all he does is hug. Thats bull when DYG comes back look at the fun ratings for his fights he has a high fun rating everyear. He has given out more big beat downs then anyone so how is he a huggy bear. He usually puts a clinch on then opens up with a huge flurri of rights nothing wrong with that. Brashear is a force in the heavyweight division and the hate towards him is ridiclous.

shanahan1499 12-31-2006 09:53 AM

That is why Brashear gets into trouble when he fights an opponent stronger than he is. Plan hugfest fails and he has to actually fight. Even better, what if his opponent uses the hugfest technique, a la Shanahan.

WTF last year he was way above 500. He lost I beileve 2 fights one wasn't really a loss. He loss to McGrattan and lost out of pointes to Belak. He also beat Cairns,Oliwa 2,Boogaard,Allison,Orr, Marshall and Godard. He drew Doull IMO. so his record was 8-2-1 plus a unfair fight with Kasper.

I don't put them in the same category at all. There are FAR more Brashear haters than there are Brashear 'lovers'....and I am neither. I defend Brashear sometimes because I think this site is ridiculous in its hatred toward Brashear. It's gotten better, though.....

Well, that didn't turn into much of a problem did it? He eventually OVERPOWERED Shanahan, got the left free, tossed him and DUSTED HIS HANDS.
