sorry buddy crosby isnt a lightweight by the way . his name shouldnt even be mentioned on this board. a lightweight is nichol, hinote, ott, kostopolous, avery, dorsett, rutuu,
also check the last time lappy or lucic fought a heay, if ever.

and in the knew nhl there "are" middle weights there to fight the game, aka Rypien? totoo, moen etc. The Natural heavyweight sadly is a dying breed.

Most of this doesn't even make sense... But here we go...

So are you calling Avery and Ott lightweights? But Rypien and Tootoo are Middleweights? Where is the line on that analysis? Dying breed? Just wondering what was meant by it all

Had I've been you I would have started this post by insulting you for being stupid.
I agree that Kosto and Avery maybe should be considered more as middle weights than light weights but Hinote and Nichols are, no doubt.
The pure enforcer type of player without any playing skills is a dying breed. How many teams dresses a legit heavy like McGrattan and Boogaard every night in these days? There were countless spoiled nights last season cause the guys were in the press box instead of on the ice fighting. I have no hopes this season would be any better...

For sure Kosto and Avery are middles and yes, Hinote and Nichol are lights

If they are a dying breed then it is a slow death... When a team doesn't have a Heavy that seems to be one of the biggest complaints by media and fans... I think there will ALWAYS be room for heavies... well, until the NHL takes a final turn for the worse under Bettman's "brilliant" guidance...

I do like a good tilt as much as the next guy, but the game is still decided by goals

Ummm...Ive been watching hockey for 30 years and I have never heard the media complain about a team's lack of a heavyweight dude. Maybe guys like Don Cherry will b*tch and moan about it, but you never hear mainstream media even mention it unless its in some type of negative light like the McSorley thing or the Bertuzzi-Moore incident.

Just ask Pierre McGuire.
Yesterday he was very clear about what fighters can do for a team...

You probably mean presently, but in the past it was guys like George Mcphee or Stan Jonathan. True middleweights that weighed in the 175 - 185 range that fought like heavyweights, being short doesn't necessarlily mean you are not a heavyweight IMO.

Not that I am disagreeing with Neil being a proficient fighter, but he weighs 205lbs-210lbs. What is the definition of a non heavyweight?

Skill level, not size.

Brashear beat your favorite fighter. And would win in hypotheticals as well (except Belak).
