Corvo is much different then Oduya and Leddy...I am focusing on point shot....Leddy looks to be getting it when it comes to shooting from the point on the power play, but not there yet...Oduya is just worthless and at $4 mil a year a farce if we resign him.

My main target is Sheldon Souray...but if we cant land him, Joe Corvo is a solid pick up. Ask yourself this, Joe Corvo or Sean O'Donnell? Joe Corvo or Sami Lepisto?? Joe Corvo or Dylan Olsen?? if you answer anyone but Corvo I will need to see what meds your on

Corvo is an upgrade as a5th-7th dman who can man the point on our power play. do not compare him as if we are using him as a top 4 dman, not the role I want him for...Olsen is young and one day might be good, but right now he is slow and looks like a pylon on ice.

I will say this, there is plenty of love for Dustin Penner from many other Hawks posters on a few different sites...he is the kind of guy that you can get on the cheap and hope to hit a homerun. he isnt any worst then Brunette who you had to puke all over yourself this year watching.

you guys are silly if you think Bowman and company are going to upgrade this team with any big name players. I dream (no pun) about getting Suter as he is well affordable, but Bowman doesnt make big splashes. All this guy is going to do is replace Mayers, SOD, Brunette, Lepisto, Morrison, etc with a new set of UFA vets... might as well accept that guys. Corvo and Penner would be #145 and #200 on my wish list, but with this market, and Bowman being told to not hand out any more long term contracts, we get what we get.

Slater, Corvo, Penner, and or Souray is an upgrade over what they will be replacing. It isnt the greatest of scenarios, but until Kevin Hayes, Pirri, Morin, Beach, Danault, McNeil, etc are all ready to play top minutes, we have to replace with these types of players

Package both Sharp and Bolland (plus a prospect) to the Islanders...get their #1 pick (draft Alex Galchenyuk...the center we have dreamed about having), "El" Nino, young dman (Donovan) and Gillies!! we need a goon!

Nino was used horribly this year, kid will be a player if given more then 7 minutes a night

three, kane is the 2nd center by default, so just stop with slater as the 2nd line center as he would not be slotted there but on the 4th line.

gillies is a free agent as well, dumbo. bollig is gonna be our heavyweight plus he can actually play a regular shift unless gillies who would be useless to us.

anybody knows that gillies can't play a regular shift which is what the hawks need.

this team lacked a power play quarterback...and your going to tell me this team doesnt need a Joe Corvo? we didnt get blown out of any games, our defense is more then stable in their own zone, the only thing we need is more offense from the blueline, especially on the powerplay. this team is going to target a PMD not a defensive dman..it is the MAIN thing we need....Corvo isnt the top guy for that, but he would be a help...

On muckers and grinders: Where do you get Bolland and Morrison as being grinders? And why do you keep knocking Mayers, he doesn’t score much but he showed more heart than most of the other guys and he’s not there to score anyway. Poor guy got his ass kicked a few times because of some of our sorry ass players that won’t stick up for themselves or teammates. He earned a spot as far as I’m concerned.

On Corvo: No, he is not an upgrade to Lepisto, Olsen and ODonnell (well, maybe vs Odonnell he's an upgrade). I see him as the same type of player; a guy that tries to do too much with his limited ability. The Blackhawks need to rethink their defense as a whole anyway. After Seabrook and Keith we got nothing special as far as I’m concerned. I’ll take your Corvo if we can replace three other guys with players THAT CAN ACTUALLY PLAY DEFENCE AND MOVE PEOPLE. **** the power play, if we can’t get guys that can move mother****ers out of the crease and out from the front of our goalie then what use is one guy with a point shot on the power play when we are down 5 – 0?


ON Penner: He had ONE good year and that was a fluke. Why do you think he keeps bouncing from team to team? Because he drives coaches insane due to the fact that he’s a big dumb liability that doesn’t know how to use his size. 6 foot 4 and doesn’t hit and takes 3 and 4 games off at a time, that’s enough for me. If he just played with at 80% of what I think he is capable of I would agree with you but he is just so lazy that it is painful to watch. If we could get him on a very cheap 2 way deal and just for one year I’d say go for it.
