Thanks, Mags. We'll do our best to get home in one piece!

And active stick, I completely agree. The power play is still not where it needs to be, but the Pk is playing out of this world right now.

Some positives - Minus the shootout, Crawford looked very solid. I'm still not 100% sold on the power play, but the penalty kill hasn't looked this good since the year they won the cup. Hopefully that continues.
Good points, Stick.

Should be an interesting game tonight.

1. It will be the teams first game after a loss and we'll see how they respond.
With a win or a point tonight, it will give us a better idea of what kind of season it's going to be. No one expected us to go 48-0, except maybe chilly

If we win 6 and loose 4 in a row, its going to be a long season.

2. This is truly a rivalry game with a lot of bad blood between the teams. The Canucks have toughened up. How Q responds tonight could set the tone for rest of the season, not only for the Hawks, but possibly a message to the rest of the league.

We have added some muscle and toughness, so have the Canucks. Will he let the hounds loose or keep them on a short leash. I don't mean just fighting, but pushing back very hard and not taking crap. If one of ours gets run, pay it back.

3. I don't know who will start in goal tonight. If it is Emery, I hope he settles in and isn't boxing with the puck like his last outing.

If it is Crawford, has he put his shaky outing in the shoot out behind him. As good as he looked int OT, he was bad in the shoot out.

Just some thoughts.

to put this as politely as i can...

I ****ING HATE PATRICK KANE!!!! i watched this little bitch turn the puck over right inside the offensive blue line then leisurely skate back into the neutral zone with no effort to get the puck back. yes there were two defenseman there, but still try to make up for your ****ing lazy play and not by showing no effort.

problem #2 was in overtime watching hossa and keith hustle back after hansen while kane didn't even make it to the red line while his teammates bust their ass to get back and stop a chance on crawford.

this lazy piece of ****ing **** can go the **** away and play with his drunken puck sluts in another town and cause them all the trouble with his antics.

/end rant

Leddy? Really?

And chilly, i don't agree to quite the extent, but I've had about enough of Kane too. I was actually mad he scored because it looks like he actually did something. That Sharp - Bolland - Kane line had what? 8 turnovers tonight?

Speaking of, so much for Bolland, eh? He had to have torn something and he knew it. (Although I am not doctor)

Yeah, that whole second line looked really sloppy tonight.

Also, my reaction to Leddy being our 4th shooter:

Glad I am not the only one totally baffled, confused, and concerned about Leddy being the fourth choice.

chilly, I don't have as strong of feelings about Kane as you do, but, how about simply playing the game and leaving the "cutsie poo" look at me stuff for practice. If the kid would quit reading his own press clippings and just play the game, he could be a pretty good player, at least offensively.

Last night we seemed to try and do to much with the puck, when we were able to complete passes. Instead of shooting the puck, to me we over handled the puck allowing the Canucks to get on us and slow the game down.

I really loved what Kompon said between the second and third periods. Basically he said we had to simplify our game and and just put the puck on net. How many times have we heard this?

Hawks should have lost 10-1 tonight, but thanks to luck and Ray Emery they stole 2 points.

I almost feel bad for Flames fans (almost). Watching games like this as a fan of the team that dominates the other team but still loses is extremely frustrating.

I am still not completely over having two go rounds with flu. On Saturday night I was all set to watch the game at Calgary. I did watch the first period, fell asleep off and on during the second and was woken up by my wife to go up and go to bed between the second and third periods.

I staggered up stairs, turned the game on and waited for the third period to start. I feel asleep and missed the rest of the game and the OT.

Good thing I didn't miss any last second goals or an overtime win.

Good win. I'm guessing Bollig will be dressed next time these teams play. Very physical game. Holy freaking stick lifts by Toews all game. The guy is awesome and fun to watch and he plays the game at the highest level a guy can.

A very good win for the Hawks.
San Jose is going to be tough this year and we might see them in the Playoffs.
What Keith did last night sticking up for Mayers was very cool indeed, however
id really like to have someone else go in there Keith is too valuable to us
to be in the box for 10+ minutes.

to be honest...last night i have no issue with keith jumping in as he send mayers a weak ass pass that got him lit up. now that said, on further issues like that, i don't want keith jumping in like that.

Of the players that were on the ice at the time, Keith was the most logical choice, in my opinion, for a couple of reasons.

First, no matter if it was a clean hit or not, which it was, in that type of game it had to be avenged. It had been a hard physical game and you had to answer this type of hit, or you could bet your ass there would be more.

Secondly, a team leader had to answer for the leveling of a player who, whether is a great fighter or not, has the back of all his teammates, all the time. You needed a Keith to say no matter who or when, we take care of our own.

This team has played that kind of hockey from the first game. We have made comments about how they were playing as a team and how they to be a cohesive unit. Last night added to that.
