2012-13 Official Thread

um so yeah...the hawks are back.

part of me is thinking meh as i watch ncaa, juniors and minor league hockey. though i know some here do not and im sure are delighted as all hell that the nhl is back.

now that said, i'll still be watching and doing all of my due diligence for the site and the hawks threads, just maybe not with all the heart i have in the past.

welcome back boys.

also of note, hawks stats will be in with the other stats (already created space and edited the title) when they start which should be 1/17 or 1/19.

ill post the schedule as soon as it's released as well.

oh also it looks like shaw, kruger, bollig, leddy are 4 guaranteed to go to shortened camp (also probably make roster) along with the chances of a couple others as well.

my guesses are jimmy hayes, ben smith, and a defenseman that could be lebda (considering im sure that's why he's been here on a PTO all season) or even ryan stanton as he's earned it the last season and a half.

hopefully the hawks will release a camp roster after all the papers are signed.

Haven't got all the details of how things are being worked out and will have to call the Hawks, but seems like we are getting screwed on the tickets to games as they try to fit in the games to tickets purchased for the season.

Trying to cram 41 home games into 24 home games is going to be tuff and knowing the Hawks from past history, fans are not going to have to much say in what games they are going to.

Hope it works out.

if Hawks have those slumps like they do, it'll hurt a lot more this season

You bring up a very good point. They can't afford to go into one of their famous swoons.

At least we don't have a "Circus Tour" to worry about this season.

Agree.

They came out and played a solid game. They played very well in both ends of the ice. The Kings made mistakes, with help from the Hawks, and the Hawks took advantage.

Very nice first game. The team looked cohesive from the start and played well as team.

Carcillo might be out for a bit from what I read on my Yahoo fantasy update.

Quote:
Sat, Jan 19

Carcillo is expected to miss 'some' time with a lower-body injury suffered in the third period against the Kings on Saturday, Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said in a press conference after the game.

Recommendation: It appeared that it was a leg injury suffered when he was checked into the boards. This was Carcillo's first game since more than a year ago when he tore his ACL in his left knee. If Carcillo misses extensive time, it will definitely hurt the team with his enforcer's style benefiting the rest of the roster.
