The Bruins outhit the Rangers 32-31. I actually was pleased with the Rangers hitting game last night and I love the way the kid Miller plays. I thought he had a lot of hits so I just checked and saw he got credit for seven of them. The Bruins finally played their style of hockey as the game went on though and when they do that they make the hits look more lopsided because they definitely had more of the big, crushing blows.

I love how the Bruins come back from a 3-0 lead-and bigjack's in here giving the rangers props for "guts" haha. Just kidding, BJ.
I knew once the bruins went down 3-0, that things would get a little dicey. Surprised by Asham not accepting Thornton's challenge but this was Tort' s move. The Bruins are big on fighting when they go down a few goals or if they are really sluggish. There have been numerous examples of Thornton getting the team charged up with a fight to help change the momentum of a game. So Tort's wasn't trying to give the bruins anything in this one. Lucic finally getting a bit chippy. McQuaid seemed like he was looking for something early on. I liked seeing that and there is no tougher team in the game then the Bruins when they are down a few goals or going through a slump. They always eventually explode in an orgey of fights and other assorted on-ice violence. You got to love it. I thought it was smart for Tortarella to play it safe on the road. Still i thought Asham would give us something anyway. Fukk orders! The Bruins were bitten by a few mistakes and at least one softy by Rask. Otherwise I liked the way the Bruins played against the Rangers. Of course they showed true guts lol coming back from 3 down. They finally played some desperate style hockey. I'm glad they didn't just give up on things being down in the game like that. Some heart right there. Lundqvist is awesome. He is just so hard to score on. Plus the Rangers defense makes it so difficult to get anything through to him. They are always blocking shots and putting themselves in harm's way. You got to love that. Nash had that sweet assist early in the game. H/L reel stuff. Callahan is a hitter. He really throws his body into checks. For some reason the Rangers got untough real quick. No rupp due to trade and no Bickel? Leaving Asham- on the road in Boston? I don't know about that. You could see the bruins begin to take liberties after going down a couple goals. Like i said the Bruins show their frustrations when they are against the wall or going through a slump or down in games. People have this misconception of the Bruins being this all out bullying intimidating team. Basically they will take what you give them. Got no enforcer? they'll push you around. Gotta a monster one dimensional enforcer? they'll play around him and beat you straight up. Not the classic big bad bruins or broad street bully team but still old school tough. I'm hoping these two teams meet up in the playoffs. There would be some great games.

All I'll write is that the Rangers were in BOSTON and not in NY and the Bruins were lucky that the rebounds on the last two goals went right onto Bruins sticks and Hank had no chance!
They didn't pout, they didn't quit, they were fine in the OT and won in the shootout! People here can praise Boston and say the Rangers suck and I'll take the two points and they can have the one point! I also love how guys are writing on this site like every team has a Lucic and Chara and boy the Rangers are a bunch of pus*ies! The Rangers allowed 14 goals in their first 4 games and were 1-3 and had 6 fights and in the last 8 games have allowed 16 goals and only had 2 fights winning 6 and losing 2. I'll take the 16 goals allowed in 8 games and 6 wins and 12 points in the 8 games!

Bullsh*t as I pointed out after the first 4 games! The shi*ty defense and crappy special teams is why the Rangers were 1-3 and I've been proven 100% right. Keep the goals against down and improve the PK and the team will be very competitive. I also said that guys like: Nash, Hagelin, McDonagh, Girardi, and Stepan have got to get going and now they are and that Gaborik and Richards have to be consistent and we are still waiting for that! Torts has won a Stanley Cup and has never said I want a team like Herb Brooks wanted and some of you guys make him out to be a coach who hates fighters and doesn't want hitting and a gritty team! This team needs to keep the goals against down and kill penalties and they will be fine and if they ever get the PP going will be dominate! Some of the bullsh*t that I read is ridiculous!

No matter how many times you say it, don't think that you are teaching anybody that keeping goals against down is going to help you win games. Last year they were able to do that AND stick up for each other. Imagine that crazy concept. They don't even make it out of the first round without Prust. We fought anytime and anywhere and the team fed off of it. No reason we can't wish for a team that makes us proud like we had last year.

This bullsh*t that I constantly read about guys like Haley is so ridiculous! He's an AHL player and the Rangers winning or losing isn't riding on a guy like Haley!

To me he's as valuable as Paille and Campbell are to the Bruins, all due respect but they're role players. Good penalty killers and Campbell is solid at face-offs...but they shouldn't make or break your team's season. I think Rangers fans are over estimating his value here, losing him shouldn't make a huge difference in the team's success.
