So is it true that Sestito and Shelley are both scratched, or is that just what someone was reporting on Twitter?

That's the word. Wellwood in.

Good to see all these screen names again. My first login since September. Glad to have a reason to be back and looking forward to another year of sh*t shooting and slinging with all of y'all (and yinz).

Let's go Flyers.

That sucks. What the hell is Eric Wellwood good for? I said it the othe day: he does nothing someone else who's already playing can't do better.

Good, the Flyers couldn't have looked flatter if they were just standing there.

How was Neal able to make it through one shift, let alone play long enough to score? Come on let's step anything up, Flyers.

Good to see you back, tim. I started posting here again in late September, and noticed there were definitely a lot of names missing. Looks like some of them have come back today.

Well so much for the Refs letting these guys play. Even with a 3-1 powerplay advantage for the Flyers, 8 minutes of special teams in the 1st period? Gimme a break. The Flyers started flat and it cost them 2 goals. It could be 4-0, but the space cadet has made some solid saves. The Flyers picked up the play near the end of the 1st.

I thought playing against a bitter rival would have been enough to shake off the rust, but the Flyers haven't looked that good so far. The constant penalties have killed any chance of either team building momentum, too. Hopefully they wake up a bit in the 2nd, but they definitely looked like they started controlling the play toward the end of the 1st.

On a side note, glad to see Eric Wellwood really making his presence known in this game.

They looked a bit slow, but the first goal was a great deflection, nothing anyone could do about that. The second goal, holy hell talk about winning a faceoff. You're right in saying that neither team really built any momentum. The Pens came out dominating their offensive zone, but really weren't given a chance to do anything. The Flyers finally started to play with about 8 minutes to go in the first. Hopefully they can keep it up.

Well, the Penguins dived and flopped their way to victory once again. Crosby gets tangled with Giroux and flops to the ice -- Coburn goes to the box and the Pens score on the PP. Then, late in the 3rd, the Flyers pull Bryzgalov to gain a 6-on-4 advantage, and Letang flops when Giroux skates by him and get the Pens back to even strength.

That was definitely worth the wait.

Eh im not gonna use the excuses. Everyone was sloppy in the first period. I think the flyers were definately the better team in 2nd and 3rd periods. They just couldnt finish. But i am gonna question our offense some. I know its only one game, but we have alot of guys who disappear alot, Giroux and simmonds are the 2 that show up every game. Was that way alot last year to. But scoring 1 goal today isnt exactly what i wanted to see. But kudos to the pens

No team is going to be crisp offensively early on given the circumstances. Timing is going to be off. Plus, I think your offense will be better once Briere gets back in the lineup.

I was just bitter. I'm OK now.
