They weren't trying to test his glove hand, they were trying to roof it the way Rupp and Crosby did. Finally, after they kept missing the net or shooting into Ward's pads, Kunitz decided to go 5-hole for the win. Anyway, I only got to watch from the end of the 2nd period on - I thought the Pens looked good even in the 3rd when the Canes were pushing to tie the game. They had plenty of chances but Ward came up big. That save on Guerin was just insane, but honestly, Billy helped him a little bit by elevating the puck rather than sliding it along the ice. If he does that, Ward has no chance.
5-0 on the road so far, and if anyone's wondering, the Pens' record is 7 straight in 1992-93.
