Pittsburgh at Boston 4/20

Pittsburgh Penguins at Boston Bruins
12:30 pm on NHL Network

Standings:
Pittsburgh: 1st conference; 33-10 (66 pts); 16-5 away
Boston: 4th conference; 26-11-5 (57 pts); 14-3-3 home

Think this one won't have a lot of emotion behind it? After an emotional week filled with grief and terror, Boston-area residents can take one more step toward normalcy. This game was postponed Friday due to an all-in manhunt for the Boston Marathon bomber. With the search over, the NHL will move forth with the Pens-Bruins game this afternoon.

The Penguins will secure themselves the top seed in the East and home-ice advantage through the Eastern Conference playoffs with a win over the Bruins. The Pens are riding a 5-game winning streak, all without stars Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby, and have won 8 of their last 10. Their surge has been led by newcomer vet Brenden Morrow, who has scored eight points in the last five games.

The Bruins are two points behind Montreal for the Northeast Division title and the East's 2nd seed, but have two games in hand on the Habs, who are in action tonight vs. Washington. Boston blew a one-goal lead late in the 3rd period to Buffalo on Wednesday, then lost in a shootout. The Bruins have some ground to make up and no shortage of emotional energy in the tank. Can they take down the top team in the East?

Season series:
3/12/13: Boston 2 at Pittsburgh 3
3/17/13: Boston 1 at Pittsburgh 2

Series fights:
The Pens and Bruins have not recorded a fight this season, but Steve MacIntyre was recalled by the Penguins on Thursday.

View the possible fight matchups for the game here.

Seems like a lot of possibilities with Big Mac, Engelland, Glass, Thornton, Lucic, McQuaid, Campbell and Chara. But, at this time of the year who knows? I could see Lucic and Engelland possibly tussling.

haha it's 4/20, man. The bruins will avoid Big Mac today. We might see an undercard matchup-thornton vs. engellend or maybe a campbell vs. vitale round 2.

Sounds like MacIntyre won't be playing in this one. Below is Kunitz showing his support and coach Dan Bylsma.

Well now that there's no terrorist wandering around Boston, Mac's services are no longer required.
