NY Rangers at Boston Bruins 1/19/13

Finally the schedule has been officially released and we can start speculating about how the season will go.

First game out of the gate for both teams here. Two tough teams who play a physical game. I think we can expect toughness dressed on both sides as both teams will look to make a statement to the rest of the conference. Notably, Arron Asham is suspended for this game for his antics in the playoffs last year. Micheal Haley may dress in his place. Possible fight match ups, anyone?

Rupp-Thornton
Bickel-Campbell
Haley-Campbell

Bickel vs. Thornton and Haley vs. McQuaid is what I think we'll see.

“I would assume so, yes, unless he stinks out there,” Chiarelli told the media with a smile. “He’s been cleared to play now. I don’t what level of contact he can take, but I think he’s been cleared to play.”

That's good news, but I wouldn't expect him to fight just yet...

I don't think we'll be seeing McQuaid fight much anymore (especially not in a pre-determined fight) He toned it down a lot last year and I heard he wears a visor now?

McQuaids one of those guys who has had multiple concussions. Really not sure how much fighting he can/will do. Haven't heard about the visor wearing yet. We'll see.

I'm pretty sure last season had more to do with the concussion from Shelley planting him head first into the boards, than his lack of enthusiasm.

Always liked McQuaid, wish the Jackets had held onto him as they have ZERO toughness on the blue line.

Saturday can't come soon enough at this point...ready to see Rick Nash get a warm welcome to the east, and by warm welcome I mean get smoked by half of the Bruins team when he's got his head down. Should be a well fought game, a lot to prove on both teams ends right now. I think it'll be a close one..
