What a game... what a ****ing game.
Rob Scuderi and Brooks Orpik both played out of their mind tonight. That game, in itself is why hockey is the greatest sport. You can't ask for guys to sacrifice themselves more. You can't ask them to put their bodies on the line anymore than that. Its amazing... just amazing what some of these guys put themselves through. |

Hell of a game 6. Pittsburgh did what they needed to do to get the win and was able to hold on in the third period to force a game 7.
Rob Scuderi was outstanding tonight. The guy is really making a name for himself with some great play in his own end at the most important time of the year.

You mean the announcers that are so obviously pro-Red Wing? I'm sure if they had it their way the Wings would just be handed the cup.
It's funny, but as bad as Bettman and his cronies would love for Detroit to win the cup again, the evidence is staring them in the face that fans don't like that style of hockey. Anybody wonder what the "real" attendance numbers have been at the Joe? I never would've thought there would be even one empty seat in the Stanley Cup finals there, but man was I wrong. Please don't blame it on the economy either. |

Honestly though, my full view of the series. Detroit has played up more than enough to their ability, they are a dynasty. The Penguins are a dyntasy in the making. The referees ruined the series IMHO because of what everyone is saying about Bettman letting the teams play. I feel the calls through the first 4 games were sketchy, the 5th game was better, and tonight's game was pretty good. In situations like these, each team is gonna feel they did have enough time on the PP.
If we win Game 7 badass, two championship teams in the same year. Happened for Pittsburgh in 1979 too with the Steelers and Pirates. Side note, Detroit has done it twice, once with three teams (Wings, Tigers, Lions). If we lose game 7 that sucks, but we made it to Lord Stanley's dance twice in two years. That ain't half bad. Not to mention we will be contender's as long as we have Crosby, Malkin, and a strong supporting cast. Detroit, although some of the fans on here are rediculous (dare I say, too fanatic?) I assume you all aren't bad because my friends dad whom is sitting next to me just told me about his trip to Detroit last year. He said there wasn't one ignorant fan at Joe Louis arena, and he was only able to get a single seat. Imagine the low confidence, heh. You guys got your grimy mit's on the Stanley Cup 11 times, let us have our third!!!! Side Note, anyone notice when Kennedy scored the goal the arena announcer said, "Goal scored by, number 48 Tyler Kennedy..... Kennedy, Time of the goal was...." I asked my friend why that was and apparently on WDVE (radio station here in Pittsburgh) the morning DJ (and most popular DJ on the station) is also the announcer at the arena. He says he only does it for Kennedy because of how presidential it sounds. He showed me the video which I can not find right now because I drank a bit too much jungle juice tonight, but it shows him announcing Kennedy's goal (Goal scored by Tyler Kennedy) then he walks away from the mic and then back to it (Kennedy). I don't know if you followed that, but I hope you can get a sense of the satire. Well, if you haven't got bored yet here's a video of 300 people dancing to MC Hammer in hammer pants.
