Holy mother of fukk people get a grip on reality for christ sakes. Ya the EuroWings are the biggest pansy team in the league and ya the Penguins are led by the biggest pansy in the league but did anyone of you really fool yourselves into thinking there would even be a roughing call in this series?

I mean let's look back and two rounds ago Talbot went out and got the shiat kicked out of him when his team was being dominated and then the Penguins come back and win. Some people will have you believe this rallied the Penguins, which for a team lead by a pansy it could be so. Others use a more logical arguement that the Flyers just shiat the bed after that and there defense was once again exposed.
So I must ask this, if your the Detroit Redwings which some may argue stands for there bleeding tampon that covers the vagina's why in the hell would you bother fighting last night. We all know there isn't a backbone in that dressing room and they are a team built full of guys content with not fighting or wanting any part of it. It makes no sense at all to think they would finally man up 100 games into there season when they haven't done that all year or for the matter in the last 10.

I mean ya we would all love to see some fights if there were two teams capable of it in the finals but nobody is fooling anyone if your thinking they are. Were dealing with a Gary Bettman wet dream here with his style of hockey winning it all and his poster boys front and center so to think that something different should have happened is just ridiculous.

Nah I'm just joking you, carry on with your battles. It's good reading.

following the lines of your arguement why ever bother fighting? It's always been a part of the game. I take it you dont like it?
Nope, I love a good fight. I prefer it when guys that get a regular shift go in the heat of battle. Not a fan of 2-3 minute players filling out a dance card during the pregame skate and then fighting halfway through the first. But I'm a bigger fan of smart hockey. Say your team is up 2 or 3-0 early in the 2nd period and the opposition is trying to pick a fight to change momentum. You turn that one down. Don't do anything to jeopardize the win.

Granted this game was already decided, but it's a series. Can't allow for an ounce of momentum to get sparked. If Talbot or whoever pumps up his bench and then they score a goal late or maybe even two, even if they still lose the game they have something to build on for the next game.

It was smart for the Pens to try and start stuff, but it was smarter for the Wings to deny them the opportunity.

I understand everybody's frustration with Bettman (lockout, sh!tty TV deals, etc.), but who does he work for? The owners, right? Has anybody (other than me) written their favorite team's management about your disatisfaction with his performance? C'mon, all teams have an e-mail contact for fans (ie consumers of their product). Show your disatisfaction.

The thing that scares me is that it seems like all the owners are happy with him despite his failings. I think blame is misplaced on certain teams for the state of the NHL, when in fact every team is equally responsible for Bettman still being employed.

The Redwings were the first team to stoop so low as to take Russians that weren't willing to defect. So in essence, Detroit was paying money to the other side of the cold war. Every other team (to include the Canadian ones) didn't do that. Sure, it won them some Cups, but once a traitor, always a traitor. If you're that small minded to have never seen this you are trash. If you saw it and didn't care, you are even worse. Fu(k the Redwings.

Detroit Redwings = everything that sucks about the NHL.

Yep I was. I was just adding that the RedWings of yesteryear had boys who'd stand up for their teammates instead of turning their cheek.

You do realize this site is about FIGHTING in hockey? Posting on this site about how you don't like guys that only play a few minutes and fight, or in other words the ENFORCERS in hockey, is not going to go over well here.

Man are you on the wrong site.

Go back to the Red Wings board and talk to each other about how "tough" your team is and how getting a PP is better than standing up for a teammate.

there are and they take advantage of them because they play there more often and know where the "sweet spots" are. but those "sweet spots" have also created goals for the other team to so im not really seeing your point

That's not even the problem, I don't think you've realized this isn't www.letsgowings.com yet. Everyone values winning, for their own squad. For the most part everyone also values intense, physical hockey which Detroit doesn't bring, so why would the fans that support the SCF with Detroit winning be all over this site?
