I guess there's always hope...

They've proven that they don't know how to play hockey at the Joe. How is anything possible given that the only thing they know how to do when they are getting it handed to them it try to be the "big man on campus....?'

Actually, I'm pulling for the Wings here. I wouldn't mind them answering the bell though, nor would any other Wings fan (besides you 2 guys apparently.)

But I believe and hope they'll dress a tougher lineup next season. If that Ducks series taught 'em anything, it's pretty mandatory.

If the Ducks learned anything, it's that they need more than one line of skilled players.

Any questions?

No I come to this site because I like hockey fights and the Red Wings dont have that. It pissed me off a team with no fighters are always winning but never standing up to themselves so I come here to express my displeasure with it and to shut up self righteous Wings fans like you. The more the Wings win without fighters the more other teams will follow. You can say "bye bye" to the amount of fighting if that happens. I'm not going to come here and congratulate a bunch of p-ssies on skates for destroying hockey. There you go.

Yeah, the biggest question: Why are yous insisting that you dislike fighting? Nobody's buying that aspect of your arguments. Just admit you would like a McCarty or Downey in the lineup in a game like tonight and we can all move on.

Wrong. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I got no problem with fighting. I have said time and again, this game is about winning the Cup. Everything else is backdrop. Detroit has found a successful formula in the salary cap era, and I am just glad they are winning.

I have been a lifelong Wings fan, and I lived through the lean years. Losing sucks, even with Probie and Kocur beating the crap out of everyone. When Scotty showed up and started winning Cups, I was elated.

Holland and Babcock get paid to WIN, not fight (ask Mike Keenan). I know there isn't a player in the league who would rather win a fight than the Cup.

I grew up in a minor league hockey town, and if you want to see the "old school hockey" that people here crave, give it a try. It's entertaining as hell, but it sure isn't hockey played at the highest level.

Don't mistake my debunking the haters as some sort of rant against fighting, I appreciate winning.

I've never discounted the fact that the Wings could use an enforcer. I would love it if the Wings could somehow get Boogaard on the team.

But given their success without somebody like him, I still like the team. As for tonight, the Pens got their asses handed to them and there is no need for a McCarty or a Downey in the lineup. 5-0 is all that needs to be written...

holy sh-t you actually admitted you might actually like fighting. I think the world is going to end. Holy crap. Someone save this page because this is a historic moment for Hockeyfights.com. Now all we need is Wacbzz to admit it and maybe well take them both serious for a chance

McCarty is one of my favorite players. I would like to see him in there. I just can't bang on Babcock because he's winning. I want the Cup. Skill seems to be the key right now.

Ok, good that's some progress. IMO you would still win this game 5-0 with a guy like McCarty in there tonight and he can beat up on Talbot. You guys really sound like you would rather have a Samuelsson or Maltby in there to do nothing physical/offensive but are the better players so they're the obvious choice. Like that's really the difference between winning and losing on a team as talented as Detroit.

I have said this before numerous times. In fact, everything I said is a repeat of things I've said before. Where have you been? Your assumptions were incorrect.
My priority is winning championships.
