Don't kid yourself, you still have more PP opportunities in the series even after tonight.

Great playoff game! Good pace, nice action regarding puck posession by both teams at times, and definitely a gritty feel from both benches. Nice dust up between Lucic and Rivet. Gotta give Lucic the close win. It looked as though he could have unleashed but held back, for some reason. All in all, a entertaining game. As a third party fan of the series, great game by both teams, with one being on the short side.

Don't kid YOURself, the PP opps are now EVEN in the series. The difference is that in the first 3 games it wasn't so lopsided. Tonight It was 3-1 in the B's favor, and at least a few were questionable at best.

ignore him...you are not going to win the argument with a homer

there are many OBVIOUS questionable calls in that game. Kennedy the only person to get penalty ? Sabokta cross-check him too then suckerpunched Kaleta?

Rivet gets the hooking call while Wheeler was holding his stick ? how is that possible?

I could going on but yea game 4 is over so i'm not giong to talk about past. If there is a team that could come back from 3-1, it's Sabres even if they have only 1% chance.

I am so glad that you can call me the homer. I have so much to add.

You like to throw out specific plays that happened that go against your team, but I can do the exact same thing. There have been numerous times in the series where penalties have gone against each team. Rather thank blaming the referees, worry about your team's inability of not being able to hold a lead, you've had one in every single game.

Ahhh.... referees... the go-to scapegoat for underachieving teams and their fans.

The funny thing is, the refereeing hasn't even been bad in this series. They've been letting so much go in this series its great. I wonder if y'all Sabres fans have watched any of the other series going on, like Philly and NJ? You should feel lucky that the officiating in this series hasn't been half bad.

After the game, Sabres coach Lindy Ruff was furious with the turn of events.

"The call on McCormick wasn't a call," Ruff said. "Their own guy wiped the goaltender out. And if Pat Kaleta hitting Lucic is a call, that's strange. Both of those. I thought we were getting a power play on the McCormick play as he's hooked going to the net. Their own guy wipes the goaltender out, and it's a pretty big swing of events for us.

"We didn't blow it," Ruff said with a raised voice and piercing glare. "Nobody blew it. You think Pat Kaleta hitting Lucic was a penalty? Then [Mark] Recchi hitting [Tim] Kennedy [in Game Three] was a penalty, is it not? Is it the same? Case closed," the coach concluded, tossing the cap of his water bottle for emphasis.
No offense to Lindy Ruff, but the Sabres will never win anything with this kind of leadership. Coaches who focus their rage on the referees are losers. It's funny actually, because overall the officiating in this series has been good. They are letting a lot of the rough stuff go and just letting the guys play the game. If anything, Ruff should be angry with himself for that too many men on the ice penalty which cost Buffalo the game. At the end of the day, it's the responsibility of the coaching staff to monitor line changes. And taking a bench penalty like that in double overtime of a playoff game is inexcusable. If he coached in Boston, the fans would stand up and run him out of town (ala Don Cherry).

Be that as it may, there hasn't been a game where the PP opportunities were so uneven, has there?

I ultimately hold the Sabres responsible for their inability to do what you mentioned and more, however to infer that this game was called evenly is assinine....

Ahhhhh ... citing even WORSE refereeing in an attempt to downplay the advantage your team was given.... the go-to tactic of a fan who knows his team was handed sveral gifts yet refuses to admit it.

All that being said - the Sabres controlled their own destiny and have failed miserably. Without Miller this was a sweep.....

This is real accurate. I don't exactly remember the numbers, but out of the 4 games they have played (roughly 280 game minutes), they Bruins have only been ahead something like 20 of those minutes. I heard this on the radio this morning. It is kind of strange.

This series is all about Buffalo not being to keep their foot on the Bruins' throat. This series could easily be 3-1 Buffalo. The Sabres were something like 30-0-0 with a 2 goal lead during the regular season and are 0-1-1 during the playoffs.

Agreed!

And nobody knows more about homers than a Philthy fan.

Good luck on your fishing expedition!
