I didn't see anyone shadowing Looch on the goal he scored...
Komi made Lucic wait more than a YEAR before their fight happened...so maybe Lucic should make BGL wait the same amount of time...of course, by then, BGL may be in the retirement home. |

boston at montreal
It kind of reminds me of 2 groups of school rivals. Two of the rivals have a long term dispute and finally settle it, one of the rivals gives the other a beating in a fair fight. Now the other group can't handle that and decide now the winner HAS too fight the older much tougher brother of this pounded upon punk . Does this make sense?

What part of Lucic being ordered not to fight are you Hab fans not understanding??? It would have been just plain STUPID for Lucic to fight BGL, BGL would kill him for one, for two, after BGL killed him, all the momentom would be with the Habs in a close game. If I were a Canadien fan I would be pissed too but you have to look at the big picture. If they wanted him that bad they would have just jumped on him and started throwing. I hate this kind of hockey but I must admit it was pretty smart on the Bruins part, Montreal was pre occupied the whole game.

Thats the problem with today "new" nhl, heres a game with tons of potential and tons of anticipation and all you get is a bunch of refusals and a couple hits, pathetic.
I dont care how much of homer you are but what Lucic did was a puzzy move. I am sure if Laraque were 40-60 lbs lighter and not nearly as good a fighter Lucic would have found his nutsack where ever he left it and fought. I used to like Lucic but he lost a ton of respect from me last night and I removed him from my "toughguy" list. Lets hope he finds the balls he showed last season because so far this year it's pretty obvious he left them in Western Canada.

Well, first of all it was great to get another win against the Canadians. I think we've finally turned the tables on them a bit. I do have to say that I was embarassed watching BGL chasing our young power forward all over the ice all night. I don't know if I agree with Julien effectively handcuffing Lucic by forbidding him to stick up for himself. I have a problem with two guys right now, Shawn Thornton and Zdeno Chara. It disgusts me that niether of these guys did a god damn thing! One or both of them should have approached Laraque early in the game and made it very clear that if he wanted to fight anybody it was going to be them. Both guys have fought Georges before and handled themselves just fine. Instead of doing this, Chara & Thornton turned a blind eye to what Laraque was doing to their young teamate. It makes me f*ckin' sick! If I was the Bruin's GM, Shawn Thornton would be on waivers right now and I'd be looking for a respectable tough guy who knows how to and is willing to do HIS JOB!

wait, wait, wait a second here.
on one hand, you've got the bruins players saying that BGL shouldnt be going after lucic because they dont have a beef with each other and on the other hand, you are telling me that chara and thorton should have been defending lucic? you cant have it both ways bruin fans. do you ever think for a second that chara and thorton live by the code as well and thought that lucic should have been answering for his own showboating? |

I'd be quite pissed if I were a Habs fan right now. Absolutely TERRIBLE decision putting Laraque on Lucic. If BGL put Lucic's physical game under arrest, that's fine, but Laraque is slow and doesn't have the offensive presence that Lucic does.
If they put a more apt player on Lucic, he might not have scored that goal. I know you would all love to see those two go at it, but from a coaching point of view, Laraque bugged Lucic all night and forgot how to play defense and Montreal payed for it. Would have been a totally different game otherwise.

Laraque extended the invitation on a number of occassions but Lucic refused to dance. Perhaps on orders from the bench, perhaps from inherent fear, perhaps from intelligence- he didn't want an ass whoppin
There was a point in the game when Laraque had Lucic lined up, had him on the tracks, but instead of delivering a bone crushing hit, Laraque turns and skates away. A big hit can be just as effective as a fight. All in all a very disappointing performance by both~ |

This is just getting retarded. Poor JMillerthirty whatever his name is is embarassed to have Lucic on his hometown team. His first place hometown team I might add. Ridiculous. SugdenFlu wants to disband perhaps the best fourth line in hockey right now because Thornton didn't engage BGL in defense of Lucic. Hey dummy, you know the Habs had last change last night right? You do realize by now that the Habs were matching BGL with Looch, right? So when Looch hops on BGL hops on, when Looch gets off BGL follows. Near the end of the first Julien stuck Lucic out there on the fourth line with Thornton to get Thornton out there with Laraque. The two had words, Thornton was willing but BGL wanted Looch. Julien's quote after the game was "our tough guy was ready for their tough guy but he didn't want to fight our tough guy". Thornton did his job. The Bruins won. Oh yeah, and I don't want to see Chara fighting him either. That would have been a worse trade than Looch for BGL.
If BGL was half an enforcer he would have forced the issue, jumped him, and laid a beating on Lucic. He didn't do his job and the Bruins now have 7 points on the Hab nots. Life is good.
