The Director, Frank Darabound *sp, fired all the writers a week or so ago. That said, 13 episodes coming our way....so i wouldn't give up too quickly. A different 'voice' is coming.

From what I'm hearing Ricks character is gonna take a turn for the darkside, like in the comicbook.

My only complaint with the 1st season was the writing so I am happy to hear they are getting new writers. The season finale was great though.

I love this show overall, but I'm pretty unhappy about having to wait so long for the next season. My only other complaint is that some of the acting seems pretty forced.

One other point I'd like to make, I like how the show doesn't go overkill on the zombie kills, they give it to you in good doses so it actually seems cool and not repetitive when they rip an arrow between the eyes of a walker.

TV: 8.1 Million People Watch 'The Walking Dead' Finale!

If this doesn't scream for more hardcore horror TV series, I don't what will. A record-setting series finale of The Walking Dead lifted the AMC series to the biggest average seasonal audience in the 18-49 demo of any drama in basic cable history. Sunday's final episode of the first season drew more than 6 million total viewers and 4 million in 18-49, boosting the series' 18-49 average over its six-episode run to 3.5 million. According to Nielsen, that's the best average of any basic cable drama going back to 1993. Repeat airings of the finale at 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. boosted the episode's total audience to 8.1 million. Last month, "The Walking Dead" was greenlit for a second season of 13 episodes. Between "Dexter," "True Blood" and "The Walking Dead", horror has taken over TV. Get ready for plenty more!

I actually stumbled across this yesterday on accident. It was 5pm and they were playing the fist show of the season, I stopped watching after the finale around 11pm.

The show is pretty good I like it, I thought the acting was well. I loved it when the mom blew her daughters head off when she started waking up as a zombie. What is it with Americans and our fascination with zombies?

Great show when does the new season start?

it's like you looked in to the future. this is EXACTLY how i felt the second it was over. now what? this is why i don't think horror tv "works". a year until we pick it up... then what? they wander around for 12 episodes and on the 13th we get SOME closure? i don't know. what if we get 10 episodes and it gets cancelled? i don't know. i'm not sure i'm feeling a second season.

i really enjoyed it though, while it lasted. the acting was awful, for the most part. the head of the old-folks-protecting gang was one of the worst actors i've ever seen. just absolutely terrible. "Vato! Vato!" constantly. also, i HATED how we set up the racist guy and never touched on it again. (okay, they did, but not in a strong sense, other than "you left my brother!"). coming in to that episode it seemed like they were really pushing that storyline, then BAM, nothing. good scenes, good ideas and okay execution, but it sucks that i'm waiting a year to even hear about it again.

also, how can the effects on the zombies be SOOOOOOO good, but the explosions be so bad?! that glass shatter in the finale might be one of the worst effects i've ever seen and i've watched made for tv movies on ScyFy.

overall, i'm mixed. i enjoyed it, but i really wish it would have been one, 13 episode season and called it a day. a mini series if you will.

one more thing i hated:

SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!!!!!!

i ****ing hated how the wife ****ed that other dude after a month (or so). that was such a terrible idea. now, i don't care if her or Rick's cop friend dies. then he tries to rape her?! come the **** on.

i look forward to more Walking Dead, but i have a sinking feeling i won't care in a year and that's too bad.

I read somewhere that we’re going to wait until October 2011 for the second season premiere of The Walking Dead. Such a very long time...

I'm guessing this show doesn't really follow the comics?
