I could be wrong but I believe they call them walkers because those zombies are walking and they use other terms to describe other zombies that aren't actually walking around. So I think it's more of a way to simply describe the type of zombie they are dealing with.

According to the creator Robert Kirkman, they live in a world where the term zombie has never been used, and there has never been any movies, books, or video games based on zombies.
Plus the term "zombie" refers to an animated corpse by supernatural means. Kirkman didn't want the readers/viewers to think it was magic or something, but a man made plague. Btw little known fact...the term "walking dead" isn't about the zombies. It's about the survivors who are all on borrowed time and will all be dead soon.

Good description about why they aren't called zombies.
One of the funnier jokes I've seen is Rick and Carl find the prison library and because of the generators, could watch a movie but the only selections are Dawn of The Dead, Day of The Dead, Night of the Living Dead, 28 Days Later, all zombie movies. LOL Last night's episode was excellent, it's stuff that needs to be done and while it is different from the books, that's ok, it's being done well.

While a little slow in action, some really good things. I am glad that they found Carol. I was confused because they kept saying they lost 3 people (Lori, Carol and T-Dog), but I never saw carol die...I thought I missed something. What I liked best is the different stories are starting to intertwine. Machione at the prison. Andrea, who was with Machione, is now with the governor, and Merle just brought back Maggie and Andrea's former friend Glenn. Merle, who was let go from the initial gruop (and his brother) is now aware that his brother is alive. Seems to all be coming to a climax. I really like this show a lot, and to echo Killah Punk, I am also always wondering what's going to happen the following week.

It's all stuff that has to be done to complete the story. There was plenty of hack and slash.
It will be interesting to see what the group does at Woodbury. Rick can't possibly think they can just go in there and get Glenn and Maggie back. Aint happening.

I can understand the frustrations some viewers are having with the show but I'm still enjoying the hell out of it. The only problem I have is Andrea's characterization. Her scenes are painful to watch. All she does is either bitch while having a strap over her shoulder, or be oblivious with a strap on her shoulder.

Only watch it because I've been watching it I want to see what happens. Watching the show is like dating an ugly girl You want to dump her but she gives you a good blowjob every once in awhile.
This show has too many weak characters and storylines to be very good |

although the storylines are quite good, in the comics. they just haven't been transitioning very well, in my opinion.

I hope the mid-season finale plays out like this. I put in spoiler tags because of some references to the comics...
Rick and the group infiltrate Woodbury and somehow Rick happens upon Penny. He kills her as a callback to the first scene of the series, and this is what FINALLY pushes The Governor into visual bat**** crazy mode. Governor, or most likely Merle, will chop off Rick's hand, the Governor will rape Michonne, and Oscar will end up dead since Tyresse is joining the cast soon. Back at the prison, the inmate whose name I can't remember will do something bad to Beth. IDK why, but I can't shake the feeling that he's only there to perform a terrible act. |
