Ren & Stimpy 20 years!

http://splitsider.com/2011/06/20-years-lat...-ren-and-stimpy

Can you say "The most f#@kED UP CARTOON, PERIOD!!!!!" anybody remember this sh!t back then???

This show used to always be the highlight of my weekend. It was also interesting to note and if I can summarize correctly; the show's intention were to simply rebel against the mediocrity of cartoons back in the 80's, Back then the majority of cartoons were based on company-made toys/video games and offered little creativity (smurfs, my little pony, GI JOE Sonic/Mario) the creators of R&S simply were attempting to bring back the golden of animation.

No doubt shows like Family Guy, Beavis & Butthead, South Park, and even Simpsons in the later years owe a big thank you to R&S for going over the top and being controversial w/o fear of the repercussions. Unfortunately this is what landed the creator of the show in hot water and ultimately got fired from his own show by Nickelodeon executives.

My favorite one was where Ren was pulling the legs off the caterpillar. The lomux was a funny guy too.

One of my top 5 favorite cartoon shows.

I used to sit in front of the TV on Saturday nights watching Snick just because of this show.

Anytime I hear Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy I instantly think of Ren and Stimpy. My favorites were The House of Next Tuesday, Robin Hoek, and the one with Ren's cousin Sven.
