Pawn Stars

This is possibly my favorite show on TV right now. I could sit on the couch all day long watching Pawn Stars. The old man cracks me up. I really love it when people come in the shop and get all butt hurt when they find out the piece of junk they're selling is nearly worthless. They say "But it's been in my family for years." and they somehow think that should add value to the piece they're trying to sell. My wife and I actually went to the shop when we were in Vegas this summer. We stood outside in line for 2 hours in the heat. It was every bit of 105 degrees outside but it was worth it. Really enjoyed seeing the place. Cory was the only one of them working while we were in there. He was behind the counter for a little bit then disappeared to the back. They had about 20 other people working in there that you never even see on TV. Pretty cool to see though. If you like the show I recommend checking the place out if you're ever in Vegas.

Chum is my favorite, although I think he fakes being stupid. It's a good brief history lesson. I like it when a customer sells the shop something that they original bought for dirt cheap and now have hundreds of dollars in their pocket. Rick has a lot of "experts" he calls in so he usually gets the better deal.

The show is fake, no questions about it.

I watched it for the first 2-3 seasons, then it just started getting too fake and scripted for me. They hire actors.

Got to see them in Charlotte for the race this past spring. I like them as people for sure, and the show isn't bad I watch it when it comes on to kill some time.

I love when they get guns or artillery. Nothing like watching stuff blow up.

The first and second seasons were great. I stopped watching the show when it went from partly staged to overtly staged. We're to believe Les Paul's nephew just happened by the store with one of his uncle's guitars? You can tell the producers have no shame when it comes to the show now.

I still watch it from time to time. People bring in some pretty crazy sh*t. I really like Hardcore Pawn though, because of the customers they get. "I need 200 dollas for this laptop" or some sh*t like that. Security earns their money at that place, no doubt.

Speaking of Hardcore Pawn, saw the episode with Darren MCcarty the other night. Darren had no teeth what a roar.

The show feels scripted, one thing I never understood is why would the seller 90% of the time take Rick's low ball offer?

Why wouldn't you use Rick's "expert" to find out the value of your piece, then try and sell it in an auction or another way...where you would make way more money than taking Rick's low ball offer.

i went there also last summer, we didnt have to wait in a line tho cause none of the stars were there. It was also awesome to see, the shop was alot smaller than it looks on tv tho.
