Moonshiners

There was a marathon of this show on Discovery the other day. How staged does something have to be before they stop calling it "reality"? I was watching some drunk guy named "Tickle" hand dig a well with a shovel. If that wasn't retarded enough, in one of the camera shots the backhoe they had just spent 900 bucks for a rim and tire for, was in the background. That's a small example of the ridiculousness of this "reality" show, but I found it funny.

There was a promo for a new "reality" show on Discovery.... the "Amish Mafia". I **** you not. I can't wait to see that stupid ****. Discovery has really turned out some crap lately.

On A7E they have some "reality" too. Ever watch American Hoggers? The only good things about that show are Lea Pennick and Krystal Campbell. Almost make it bareable to watch....

Watched some Moonshiners a while back.. definatley no Deadliest Catch. That cop that keeps trying to track them down is as daft as they are.

All these channels are saturated with "reality" shows like this now. It's unbelievable. A&E, Discovery, Animal Planet, National Geographic (now NatGeo so it fits better in a twitter post), History Channel...all channels with great programming but too many stupid shows like this. How many pawn shop shows and spinoffs have we seen? Pawn Stars, Cajun Pawn Stars, American Pickers, American Restoration. I saw a commercial for another show that I already forget the name of.

Most of these shows have stupid premises before you even get to the obviously scripted drama and events. In the case of Moonshiners, I think it would actually be an interesting show if they created a historical fiction series with characters and a running storyline from episode to episode with subplots, as opposed to this overdone "documentary" style of "reality show."

Exactly. Once one channel has success with a theme everyone jumps on the bandwagon and pushes stuff that isn't there. Hardcore Pawn is another pawn show spinoff on Tru TV (which is the absolute worst channel)

The whole storage wars/baggage battles/auction hunters was the hit after the pawn show run.

Now its everything Amish...

I like NatGeo as they actually have some good documentaries still. Drugs Inc. is a good weekly show.

Duck Dynasty on A&E is obviously staged, but their characters are actually funny.

Everything else is crap for the most part.

That’s my new favorite just because of Si and Jase, ****ing hysterical but it gets old quick because it is staged.

Everything on TRU is so set up that I’m too embarrassed to tell people I’ve watched any of it. And Cajun Pawn Stars is beyond ****ing stupid.

Shark Wranglers on Discovery when it was on a few months back was the last true reality show I’ve seen. If you haven’t seen it these ****ers tag sharks with GPS so they can track them and try to learn their habits and whatever, a couple of those guys have big brass balls doing the **** they did. You can go to Discoverys website and there’s a link where you can see where the sharks that are tagged have been, really cool stuff. None of that drama between coworkers or set up fake problems and that kind of crap just strictly tagging sharks and what they went through doing it.

OK, haha, I caught part of one episode, and even though it is completely staged, it is so unrealistic it makes me laugh.

The one I saw, the dude didn't have high enough alcohol in his batch, so he adds sugar and boils it...immediately after adding...to get more ethanol?

I guess you don't have to ferment to get alcohol if you are on Discovery channel...

OK you know what i am gonna say, Love Moonshiners. Tickle is awesome getting drunk every episode, passes out during some of them. Hahahaha. Watched Amish Mafia last night also thought it was actually pretty good, although those hitmen don't look they could do to much.

I'd like to see you on the moonshiners, you have all their product consumed before it was even finished.

That Amish Mafia thing was the dumbest ****ing show EVER. There was not one shred of truth to the entire thing. It was so bad it was hilarious!

When the broads buggy wheel allegedly got smashed by the car, it was the left front wheel. The damage on the car was on the left front side, yet it supposedly happened when he sped around her? They can't even get the details right in their staging. ****ing joke.

I'd hang with them on a weekend for shiits and giggles, but would just drink regular beers.
