This season was a pretty big successful considering IMO it is the least eventful of the books. There's a lot of build up but they were able to keep it interesting... now a dreadful 10 month wait and we get the 1st part of season 3, the best book by far!!
Personally, I think the 4th book is by far the least eventful (I'm halfway through #5 right now), but I do agree that #3 is the best book, so next season should be awesome. This season was a lot of buildup, but the last 2 episodes delivered. Well done by HBO In my opinion.

True, book 4 has it's dull points, personally I really liked the new storylines it had but I know not everyone feels that way. (Martells, Reek/Ramsay)

Either way, I don't really consider book 4 an option as a season because it's pretty much guaranteed they'll be incorporating book 4 and 5 together like Martin had planned originally when writing them. I really, really doubt *SPOILER* HBO will put Daenarys on the shelves for an entire year... people would lose interest.

Great second season.

I heard they filmed back to back seasons.

does this mean they will start season three soon?

Just jumped on the GOT bandwagon i am currently on Season 2 > Episode 8. I will try to get season 3 finished before tonight's episode. Also season finale of Walking Dead, good night for television.

I'm not sure if people already knew this, but I just found the woman that plays Shea, Tyrions friend is a porn star in real life.

That being said, can't wait for tonight between this and the Walking Dead season finale.

I have a bad habit of starting of watch shows late. I will finally watch this show tonight after the Buffalo game. I'm probably gong to be all confused about the characters but oh well, my fault.

HBO gave you another shot by showing the entire Season 2 throughout today. Started at 11 am.

Why is no one discussing the season premier?! Maybe ya'll haven't gotten a chance to see it yet. Therefore I'll put my review in spoilers so nobody gets mad at me. I didn't know this show was sci fiction, dragons, giants, mutant animals. How many actual "thrones" are there to have? I would be mad if I was undressing a lady with my teeth and somebody interrupted me haha. Somebody explain who/what is the girl that tried to kill the princess and the guy the saved the day. I was laughing when the slave girl was translating what the army general was saying. Real world problem, don't know what someone is saying, hope they aren't talking smack. He cut off a guy's nipple! Good start.

Haha honestly I discuss this show all the time with my friends so I can't be bothered to discuss it online... there isn't much else to say!

There's 1 ACTUAL "throne" called The Iron Throne, there are however 7 kingdoms but The Iron Throne rules all 7. However during the history of Westeros there has been rebellions where the realm splits and people claim their own "thrones". But there's 1 main one.

The girl who tried to kill the princess (Daenarys Targaryen) was most likely a warlock. In last season Daenarys ran into some warlocks and ended up killing one of their leaders. The man who saved her, Barristan "the Bold" Selmy is probably one of the most respectable knights in the entire story, he's old, but still a great knight. In season 1 he was part of the Kingsguard (7 highly touted knights who swear their lives to defend the king 24/7) but when the young dickhead King took over (King Joffrey) he told Barristan he was too old and exiled him from the castle... so Barristan took it upon himself to travel overseas and find Daenarys Targaryen and defend her instead.

Honestly dude the show is a good watch no matter what, but to truly appreciate the story you have to start from the beginning IMO.

Just broke my Game of Thrones cherry yesterday by buying season 1 and watched the first 2 episodes. Hooked.

I can't imagine trying to get into season 3 of Game of Thrones without having seen the first two, but good for you if you are able to do it. Hell, I've watched every episode of the series at least twice yet I still get lost from time to time since there is so much going on at once. www.gameofthrones.wikia.com is a great resource for figuring out anything you've missed.
