Ryan Jorde is released from Hull Stingrays

EXCEL Hull Stingrays have released Ryan Jorde with immediate effect, following an off-ice incident.
The 27-year-old defenceman joined in the summer and impressed in his first five games.
However, the Canadian – who was supposed to be the team's blueline kingpin – had been sidelined since breaking his arm blocking a shot against Edinburgh on September 19.
The club have since signed fellow Canadian James Sanford as injury cover, with a view to releasing one of their other imports.
Stingrays, though, are adamant their decision to show Jorde the door was entirely coincidental and unconnected with Sanford's arrival.
Team owner Sue Pack said: "Ryan Jorde has been released by the club following a non-playing related incident.
"From a playing point of view, Ryan started the season well and had fully contributed prior to picking up his injury.
"However, we felt as an organisation we were left with no alternative but to release him.
"As a club we will not be making any more detailed comment now or in the future."
Jorde flew out of Britain at 5am today.
Pack also confirmed a Latvian defenceman is currently training with the club.
However, she said, the un-named player is not part of the Stingrays' plans.
"He's not on trial with us and can't be as he is not registered with us and would need an International Transfer Card to play, although as an EU citizen he is entitled to fly in and fly out of Britain if he wishes," she said.
"He is purely training with us, and he is not part of our decision-making process on team changes."
Jorde will more than likely end up back in one of the North American leagues like the IHL or CHL.. He was out with an injury to his foot but that was not the reason why he was released, and no info is available at the minute as to what the off ice incident was..
