Germany (DEL) 2012-13

Adler Mannheim:
They look good toughness wise having Power Forward Ken Magowan,
a tough defensive in Doug Janik, Shawn Belle, Jamie Sifers and Denis Reul.
Goalscorer Mike Glumac, Veteran Craig MacDonald and Captain Marcus Kink play a physical style too and are good for one or two fights a season.

Reul and Magowan will fight the big guys and Janik and CO will make them to a tough and skilled team!

Augsburger Panther
They lost Sean O'Connor and Jeff Szwez(who was later replaced by Cam Paddock) and their status from beeing the toughest team in the league.

They still have a heavyweight in Peter Flache (who was the #1 in my opinion last season with an TKO Win over Magowan and a win over Regan along with a pounding win over an austrian player in the pre season).

Other guys like John Zeiler (who is more an energy player) and Daryl Boyle (who can fight, but rarely does) and middleweight Chad Bassen (who is a decent fighter in his weightclass) will be good enough for one fight in a season.

Peter Flache will be very busy this season, especially since their star players are all undersized college guys.

Düsseldorfer EG
They had to give up all their star players and replaced them with a younger, much much tougher team.
In Alex Henry they signed a real heavyweight who had wins over top NHL/AHL Fighters in his career.
In Marc Zanetti (who had about 5 fights every season in the OHL) and 6.5. Thomas Gödtel (who had fought guys like Jeff Szwez and Guy Lehoux in Germany and did pretty well in those bouts) they will have a tough defensive.
Even their (supossed to be) Nr. 1 Defender Drew Paris is a big guy for german standarts and will fight if he have to do.
In the offensive they will have Daniel Kreutzer and the big norway Forward Andreas Martinsen. They already said in the Media that they will fight a lot and try to play as physical as they can.

With their big Defensive along with Leader Alex Henry they will be one of the toughest teams in the leage.

EHC München
Like last season, they dont have any toughness at all.
Martin Buchwieser, Leader Blake Sloan and the germany defender Felix Petermann will at least play physical but they are no answer at all.
The young german Defender David Cespiva took on Ben Ondrus last season and took some boxing lessons this summer so he might have a fight or two this season but they should go out and sign a fighter for sure.

Eisbären Berlin
They replaced Richie Regher with the offensive defensiveman Marc Katic, who isnt really a fighter.
They signed Matt Foy, who is a big and hopefully physical Power Forward.
Their star players like big Barry Tallackson and gritty Darin Olver might have a fight during the season but all in all they arent a physical, tough team. On the other hand they arent the weakest team in the league with Foy, which is a good start for them.

ERC Ingolstadt
They lost Jeremy Reich who a decent enforcer for the Panthers,
but signed Tim Conboy, Sean O'Connor and Craig Weller!
It cant get any better than this.
They will be captained by Tyler Bouck!
In Patrick Hager they also signed a tough german middleweight.
In J.F. Boucher, Kris Sparre and Chris Gawlik they also have a bunch of gritty agiators on their team-
Weller is signed to a try out contract but the team already said that he was looking good so far and they plan to keep him, especially since O'Connor cant play for the first part of the season.
They will easily be the toughest team this league!

Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg
They will have middleweight Matt Dzieduszycki and Benedikt Schopper and Teamguy Greg Moore who have some fighting experience along with the agiators Simon Danner and Alex Polaczek.
Their top scorer Norm Milley has already shown that he will start to defend hisself if he has to do.
They should definitly sign some toughness or its going to be a hard, long season for them.

Hamburg Freezers
Another team who has signed plenty of willing fighters.
Mathieu Roy is a big, strong Defender who is willing to stick up for his teammates-
Duvie Westcott is a strong, physical Leader and the young talent James Bettauer might fights too.

In Colin Murphy they have a pretty decent fighter in their first offensive lines and veteran Matt Pettinger will stick up for his teammates too.
In David Wolf they have a young, german Power Forward who did beat down Yan Stastny and Julien Talbot last season. He also fought at the Toronto Maple Leafs Rookie Camp this season.
Even their small guys like Rob Collins or Garret Festerling had fought in the DEL before.

They are looking pretty good with Murphy, Roy and Wolf.

Hannover Scorpions
In Maris Jass, Eric Regan (who fought Peter Flache and Colin Murphy last season) and Chris Herperger they have a few big guys who will drop them if they have to do.
They wont be a tough team but things could be worse in Hannover.

Iserlohn Roosters
They lost Jeff Cowan, who wasnt interested in fighting anyway.
They still have the german fighter christan Hommel, who is a decent middleweight but werent succesfull in signing any toughness at all this pre season. Brandon Rogers had little experience in fighting but shouldnt be the solution for their team toughness.

Krefeld Pinguine
an already soft Krefeld Team lost their only fighter in Ben Ondrus and replaced him with no one so far.
They have Roland Verwey who had one or two fights every season but besides that they are looking horrible.

Kölner Haie
They have a good bunch of scrappers in Brett Breitkreuz, John Tripp (who didnt play that physical at all but still managed to had 2 fights last season icl. an solid bouth with HW Seaon O'Connor),
charlie Stephens (who picked up a win over Barry Tallackson last season, but is also a spot-picker),
solid german middleweight Moritz Müller (who had some great fights against tough opponents like for example jimmy roy) and Bjorn Krupp the son of Uwe Krupp .

Nürnberg Ice Tigers
In Sven butenschoen (who has a good fight card with many hws, but cant fight for ****,
Casey Borer and Marco Nowak they have some big guys in their defensive but none of them is really a fighter.
Rob Leask is still a decent fighter but at the age of 41 he prolly wont play much anyway.
Their star players like Yan Stastny and Jason Jaspers can play gritty but they should sign a big power forward.

Straubing Tigers
They lost some toughness in Bruno StJacques and Ryan Ramsay but still have Carsen Germyn,
agiator Karl Stewart and the middleweights Andy Canzanello and Rene Röthke.

best fighters of the league:
Peter Flache, Alex Henry, Sean O'Connor, Tim Conboy, Craig Weller.

Hifk will play European trophy game against Adler Mannheim in next friday and i expect at least one fight in that game. Would be nice to see Melart vs. Reul or Magowan. After that they play against ERC ingolstad and should be good game too.

I just read today that Magowan is injured and will not play this weekend.

Too bad.
But I hope there will be fights. Eagles and especially Ingolstadt should have enough takers on their team.

How good of an fighter is Melart?

Although Melart is a quite young guy he's very willing combatant and fought very well against Matt Generous last year. Big boy and surely will take against anyone if he have to.

Melart dropped and bloodied Richard Gelke. Hopefully this will lead to something bigger.

HIFK vs. Adler Mannheim | Ilari Melart vs....

There were a few fights in yesterdays exhibition game between Hannover and Düsseldorf. Featuring for example Eric Regan vs. Travis Turnbull.

In the European trophy game between Hamburg and Brno Thomas Oppenheimer fought Roman Erat.

More Fights:

straubing Tigers vs Nurnberg
Carsen Germyn - Marco Nowack Win Germyn

Augsburg Panthers - Straubing Tigers
Peter Flache - Karl Stewart Win flache (from what I have heard)

Duisburg- DEG
Clarke Breitkreuz - Marc Zanetti Edge Zanetti
Dennis Fominych - Alex Henry Win Henry

As you can expect Dusseldorf was playing a hart hitting game and they were physical dominating the young Duisburg kids except for Schmidt and Breitkreuz.
Breitkreuz (younger brother from Brett Breitkreuz) challenged Zanetti earlier in the game but Zanetti denied. Later in the game, they dropped their gloves and squared off.
It was a good, open fight with both guys landing some good punches.
I would say Edge Zanetti, who also landed on top but the young Breitkreuz did a great job here.

Later after a scrum in front of the Duisburg net Dennis Fominych (born 93! ) dropped the gloves with big Alex Henry. Henry was a physical presence all game long but didnt want to beat down the kid.
Fominych surprisingly dropped the gloves first and Henry started very passive, they both landed some punches with Henry a bit better, the refs came in and Fominych took his chance and threw a punch on Henry who was now willing to hurt the kid and began to throw some big punches.
He took the kid down and won the fight but huge props to Fominych.

Ryan Hollweg injured Duvie Westscott with an dirty cross check at the end of the game and a brawl broke out. The Schubert fight was a result from it.

Tyler Bouck vs. Doug Lynch in Ingolstadt's game vs. Frölunda.

http://www.erc-ingolstadt.de/html/in...nthertv&id=439 @1:00 but clips stops to soon after they dropped the gloves. This images indicates that they fought at least for a short time.

according to the Ingolstadt Liveticker Tyler Bouck won the fight but who knows if thats true.

I was at the Dusseldorf vs Hannover Game today and

Travis Turnbull fought Maris Jass-
Jass started the fight with several fast hands and turnbull came back with a bunch of rights I think. Jass then threw a few and tied Turnbull up pretty good. He clearly didnt want to open and went for the takedown. When he went on top he threw some more on Turnbull who was really mad after the fight. Pretty good fight.

Draw or Edge Jass
