More action in Mestis! This time there was a brawl in game between Jokipojat and Peliitat. During the brawl Martins Jakovlevs (Jokipojat) fought Ville-Veikko Väkeväinen (Peliitat)

Surprisingly Jakovlevs was the only one suspended for fighting in Saturday's Mestis games.


And another thing, Jokerit's Semir Ben-Amor faces charges of assaulting HIFK's Ville Peltonen in European Trophy game September 1st 2012.

Today we saw the first fight of SM-liiga's regular season as Mikko Jokela (HIFK) dropped his gloves against Jannik Hansen (Tappara). It is reported that linesmen ruined the fight but still we had something. Both got 5+game for roughing

Kai Kantola (Ilves) just layed a beating on turtling Atte Ohtamaa (Kärpät). Kantola dropped his gloves and started punching Ohtamaa. Kantola collected total of 29 PIM in the event (2min for cross-checking+2min for interference+5+Game for roughing).

Yesterday in Mestis Matt Nickeron (KooKoo) got a ridiculous 5+Game for roughing as he punched Roope Westerman (Peliitat) few times with gloves on. But that's not enough, today it was announced that Nickerson will be suspended 3 games for the gloved punches.

Stop the press!!!! Darryl Boyce (JYP) and Tuukka Mäntylä (Tappara) just dropped their gloves. And of course, as we're in Finland, the linesmen jumped in immediately and stopped the fight before it started. Boyce got 2+2+10min for roughing and Mäntylä 2+10min for roughing

Both Nickerson and Lostedt suspended 3 games, reason: show fight. Yes, it was called a show fight in the official statement by the chief of discipline. What a ****ing bull**** decision. Two tough guys have a fair fight and they get the same suspension as if you for example check somebody to head or knee your opponent. Only in Finland.
