He is decent. He had a great first year in Krefeld playing surprisingly well in the offensive ( his ahl stats arent that good offensively) - He then went back to NA and came back last season signing a big contract with an rich club but I dont this his season was that good. He had a pre season fight against Rene Corbet in his first year here in Germany ( win hedlund) . I am sure he makes good money here, he has a lot of potential and is decent but nothing great. A bit overpaid imo. Another fight during pre season was: Augsburg - villach ( austria) Paul Flache - Mike Stewart ( former ihl moose tough guy) Villach fans are crazy- |

Good job podollan !
But the problem in the DEL ist: There are no more really fights. I expect only 5 to 10 fights over the hole season. That´s reality I remember on the good old days with guys like: Mike Stevens, Craighead, Mike Hartmann, Ciccone, Rick Haword, Mike ande Len Barrie, Momesso, Corey Millen, Chiattaroni, Rob Cowie, Andy Rhymsa, Guy Lehoux, Craig Martin The new DEL ist a boring joke without emotions. Even the austian league is stronger. Only swiss players are afraid of our teams My home team is heilbronn falcons. We have lost a lot of power with Pat and Dan Baum Last edited by dittsche; 09-09-2008 at 03:10 PM. |

calce is a pretty good fighter for his size- He also beat down Meyer from Freiburg this year as I am sure you know. I will post pics at the weekend-.
Mike Schutte fought Sean Brown ( klagenfurt) this weekend. I am sure Brown beat him down easily. But Schutte is a good guy. |

Danista,
great to see you back! C'mon- There arent much fights but there are still some guys who are fun to watch. for example Peter Flache in Germany- He checks a lot - He is very tough. In Hamburg you have Tripp,Wilm, Karalahti- I know refs wont let them fight a lot but take a look at augsburg and their pre season games against villach ( flache-stewart fight, some other fights) , their game against riessersee icl. a fight in the stands between murphy and brown and their game against bad toelz with players fighting the equiptment guys. |

Karalahti had a real big hit in the last game against Frankfurt, he really crushed his opponent into the boards. No penalty! I was so surprised
But that's it. If i remember five years back, there were so much more emotions in this league. It's not all about fights. But back that days there were scrums at almost every single game, slashes after the whistle and stuff like that. It's not about the players, it's about the league and the refs. They tried over years to get all the emotions out and they're on a very good way. At first i was a fan of the "no-tolerance"-interpretation because we had so much stickwork over here, it really destroyed the game sometimes but it also let the game get emotional. Hits are not allowed so guys worked the sticks. Now they can't do anything. It's really disappointing...you go to watch a hockey game and you know that there are probabley no emotions in it. It's a shame. That's not the sport I love. Just compare DEL to KHL. There are so much more fights in Russia! In the nordish countries there is a lot more hitting. We have one of the greatest ***** leauges in Europe, that's the truth! |

I wouldn't be so harsh with it. Watch the swiss league, austrian league, italian, french league. They are worse then the DEL by far. Besides that the Czech and Slovak league has less hitting and fighting then the DEL too. The Swiss league has a high level of skating and stickhandling but they play very soft there.
