Hey what is the equivilence of level of hockey in these leagues? Is it like AHL or IHL
If I had to guess it is "AA" but Euro leagues seem to pay way better. I know a LOT of AA fellas leave to play overseas cuz it pays better but I know it doesnt pay as good as the AHL. Thats how i base it.

OneiltheGiant, Fotiu, what do u guys say?

The players in the EIHL that have played in North America compare the top EIHL teams now (Giants, Panthers, Blaze, Steelers) to the CHL / ECHL.... It's a North American style of game played here as most of the players (About 60%) are either American or Canadians, the rest (38%) are Brits and (2%) Euro's..

Though the standard of play has dropped since our top league was know as the ISL 10 years ago.. Then most of the players came from the AHL.. Now nearly all our top players come from the ECHL,CHL with a few AHL guys on each team...

Most of the other top Euro leagues are of a higher standard than the EIHL. The KHL is rated the highest out of all the Euro leagues.. Then the Finnish, Czech, Swedish, German, Swiss, Slovak come next in that order..... A few years ago there was a champions league of all the top teams in Europe and a Swiss team beat a Russian team in the final..

I have no idea... But I would say the UK pays similar or higher to N.A minor leagues, because why would guys leave leagues in North America to play over seas unless they were getting payed well.. I know the Giants also throw in free accommodation, car, and university education to entice top line players over here, as well as a wage...

The UK league is also a stepping stone for a lot of guys to move onto bigger teams in Europe where they get paid even more.. We lost our whole top line from last year to the Danish and Austrian leagues, were they pay big money for players.. But quickly brought in 3 more top line guys from the ECHL.. plus an enforcer who was in the AHL and a power forward from the AHL as well.. Most top young players only play one or two season's in the UK before moving on....
