USB ports not working

On my wifes laptop a couple of her usb ports stopped working, anyone know what would cuase this or how to fix it?

most likely an electrical issue. I would just google USB ports not working and go from there.

shut it down, unplugged it from the wall and rebooted, boom. when she rebooted with it plugged in the wall, nothing changed. What the ****?

Remove the USB drivers and reinstall them. I dont know what brand your laptop is, but if they dont have individual USB drivers it should be included with the chipset driver. (Intel/AMD chipset drivers.)

To be safe check the devices she wants plugged in. Just plug it your computer and if it works you know its her laptop. If its a cheap flash drive it probably quit working, mine never seem to last longer than 6 months.

Haha, it probably WAS a driver issue, but it got freed up by rebooting the system. That's why those Tech Support tards always insist on you doing it 4-5 times when you call a 1-800 number.
