Do you have VLC?

Sounds like a codec issue. VLC has the most robust package of codecs with it.

Sometimes codecs get corrupted, or when you have more than one the media players don't know which one to use. I don't understand the exact science behind, except to say that VLC is the most awesomest media player you can get. It opens basically anything that a PC could possibly open, and if you stick DVDs in it, VLC will skip the boring ass FBI warnings and trailers for other DVDs that you don't own.
