Damn, that sux. You definitely got a defective one. I've owned 2 Sansas. The first one was the little compact one called "The Clip 4GB." Then after a couple of years I upgraded to "The Fuse 8GB."

There's a little trick to getting the maximum performance out of your battery (and this goes for any electronic device that runs on Lithium Ion batteries.) When you first get your MP3 player brand new. Make sure that you use it until you have completely drained the battery before you go to charge it for the first time.

Some MP3 players come with some battery juice brand new, while some others come with no battery juice brand new and you need to do that first charge. Regardless of how you got it. MAKE SURE YOU USE IT UNTIL THE BATTERY IS COMPLETELY DRAINED. And then charge it fully. This guarantees that you are going to utilize all the battery cells.

Example: From the very first time that you use your MP3 player when it's brand new, If you were to say charge it for the 1st time when you still have 1/2 battery life left... It's very possible that those remaining cells in there might never be put to use. So just make sure you completely drain it and then completely charge it right off the bat.

And believe me, I found this out the hard way with a cell phone. I was wondering why I was getting such crappy battery life. Then I found this out about Lithium Ion batteries. I basically killed off 1/2 of my battery's cells because those cells were never exercised.

I hope I'm making sense here. I tried to be as clear as possible.

Put it in a bag of rise overnight, sometimes it works with electronics. The rice should absorb the moisture.

I meant rice, give it a couple fo days if it doesn't work the first time. Let us know how it turns out, sometimes it works and sometime it doesn't.

i figure the screen is extra susceptible to moisture, what with the giant cracks, so it might be a lost cause. i'm still giving it a shot, but i'm leaving it in there for a day or two. why not, right?

I'm late to the party,..but whoever brought up the Zune...man those things are garbage. A girl I work with has one and asked if I could put some songs on it for her and holy hell is that thing a pain in the ass to use. Anyway, I need to get a new iPod as well. I have 3 of them, an old gum stick looking shuffle, the shuffle with the clip, and an old 30g gen 1 iPod I believe which I haven't used in years because the battery doesn't last more than 30 min. and the back light broke too. I'm too lazy to buy a new one, looking for one on eBay.

no, the pic is blocked, I'm at work. Put some butter on it, it'll be fine.

Thats one reason I hate touch screen products, they break way too easy for my clumsy ass.

the motherfucker works! hahahahahahahaha!!! so stoked. it's funny, i pulled it out of the bowl and a piece of rice was jammed up in to the charger, so i figured that was that. i grabbed a screwdriver and popped the grain as hard as i thought was necessary and it shattered. i dumped it out, threw it on the charger and voilą the motherfucker works! obviously, you can see the water in there, but fuck it. as long as she runs, she's getting used.

not sure if it was the rice or what, but thank you Kam!

the insane part is, is i dropped it while putting it in my pocket (i'm 6'2" or so, i'm not Andre the Giant) and the screen shatters... but my old lady runs it through the wash, throw it in some rice, and it's good to go.

****ing lunacy!
