Getting videos from Youtube

I know there are websites/programs that get audio from the files on youtube. Is there anything out there that will capture audio/video?

Real Player has a plugin to download videos from Youtube and other sites. Keepvid.com also lets you download Youtube videos.

that plugin for real player doesn't work with the newest edition of firefox...also for me at least hasnt been working in chrome either.

i've been able to download music vids and convert them to mp3's from internet explorer. if you have the plugin, scroll over the vid and a download the video link should appear.

idk exactly...but i download the video, then convert it to an mp3. and it does work too

Convertfiles.com also works great at creating an mp3 out of a YouTube vid. Just plug in the YouTube address and select mp3 as the output type. It will also download the vid if that output is chosen, but I have had some failures with that. The mp3 function has been great!

I'm not even sure it's possible anymore. Google got all gizacked about ripping programs and threatened to sue them all. I tried all the ones in here and they're not working for me. I also found that the Chrome add-on I had that let me rip YouTube videos directly from the video page is gone. Total bummer.

this is exactly what i've been using lately.

i was using this because you could download an add on for Firefox and it put a button right above the video while you were watching it, for super easy use. but lately it's been trying to run some Java Javelin nonsense and not working worth a ****. i have been downloading off Youtube for ages. my ipod is filled with this ****. if i'm looking for full albums, i use other methods, but it's great for single songs.

that i already own, of course...

Agreed. If you find the right vid the quality can be damn good and a lot easier than the alternatives [and obviously virus-free].
