Just watched it. I feel the exact same way.....but the movie seemed short to me.

Yeah I think they ran out of idea's after watching the promo. It was sort of like eh here's an outline and go...

Just happy it didn't drag on for numerous hours. The cast was actually really good just a shame the movie wasn't better.

I watched American Psycho this morning over breakfast. I caught up to it about 25 minutes in. I don't think I really missed much though. I'll put it in this thread because Christian Bale's performance was great as usual, but the movie as a whole was whatever. Maybe I just didn't get it.

You missed a lot in the first 25 minutes. American Psycho is not 'meh'.

American Psycho belongs in the "Good Movie" thread. Kinda fucked up, but it was good.

I caught what I missed on another running of it on HBO tonight. It's all a nice intro to his character, but it's not like the whole movie makes sense now. I know what it's about and I get it, but I'm not entirely sure I liked it. Maybe I have to watch it again.

Christian Bale's performance is great though. The scene where he's having the threesome and checking himself out in the mirror is disturbing. He's one of my favorite actors to watch and I've never even seen the Batman movies. Not interested in any of those.

Contagion with Matt Damon- definitely a thinker of a movie and it is amazing how something like that can spread so quickly. I like movies that are true to life. Solid all the way.

Seeking A Friend for the End of the World

Watched just because I wanna do naughty things with Keira Knightley but also was hoping for some laughs. Pretty meh in general. Started pretty wacky and with potential and some okay cameos, but then devolved into a crappy love story. And I'm not above or too manly for a good love story. But yeah. Was a whole lot of whatever. But not unbearable or bad.

Also, I really can't think of anything besides 40yo Virgin that I actually liked Steve Carrell in.

Also Keira wasn't hot in it or anything...

Super 8

Movie had a lot of hype, but was just OK. Seemed to start out decent but fell apart half way through. Too many subplots I think, take away the alien and it would have been better. Had a lot of cliches and spots where the kids 'personalities' were obviously forced (going for a Goonies/Sandlot feel but coming up short). The train wreck part was stupid and completely over the top (it's like they stuck the kids in Nam for a minute or two), the guy surviving in the truck afterwards actually made me mad, so stupid. The part where all the tanks and stuff are malfunctioning in the neighborhood was stupid too...the military personnel are just randomly spraying their rifles around like retards. I didn't get why the dogs all fled but all the other animals didn't. The part where the main kid stood up to the alien to protect the blond chick was cheesy. The necklace floating away at the end symbolizing that everyone has to let go sooner or later was cheesier.

I kept thinking that the kids would use that camera to film a different kind of movie once fatty recruited that low income, badly fathered blond chick.

the hunger games was very meh. i wouldnt say bad, you just have to keep telling yourself it's not a movie for adults. the whole political aspect of this movie was so blown out of proportion by the media and conspiracy theorists.

the movie couldve been pretty cool if it was adults and not children sent to fight. it couldve been somewhat of a modern day The Running Man...but, it wasn't close.
