Sweet!

In my travels, I have met an assload of Irish people, and they all say that Pitt's accent was perfect in this movie!

That movie literally pissed me off. I would have sent the entire Mediterranean Fleet in there to get those guys out.

Love that movie - one of my war flicks ever. And very close to the actual events too, save for a few "Hollywood" moments near the end, courtesy of Eric Bana runnuning around like a cowboy. But read Mark Bowden's book "Blackhawk Down", its a terrific book and the film rarely strays from whats in print.

Even back when this happened, in 1993, I could not believe how fast Clinton pulled US troops out of Somalia following the clusterfuk in the Mog. I know seeing the bodies of US troops being dragged through the streets, kicked, spat on and burned must have really offended the majority of Americans - but Clinton's reaction was to pull them all out, not ramp up operations and kick the crap out of som Somali warlords? I always thought that was so weak, and so must have the rest of the world. Then Clinton refused to get the US involved in Rwanda, no responses to terrorist attacks in the Mid East and Africa and then 9/11 happened....anyhow, my point is, the Battle of Mogadishu and the events in Blackhawk Down help serve as a turning point in US history - you can see some of the roots of 9/11 in Blackhawk down.

But I digress - it was a great movie, and while I wish it might have hinted a little more at this link, it was a film dedicated to those guys who lost their lives in one of the world's worst sh1tholes. And they did a good job doing it, even though at the end you may have been left asking, what was the point...?!

The actors doesn't even look Somali, far from it! Is it to much to ask for some character authenticity?

Both of Mark Bowden's (going off memory, and I think its right) books, Blackhawk Down and Killing Pablo Escobar were amazing reads.

The movie was incredible. It really takes you into the story of what the Delta Force guys were up against when they went in to try and save the pilot (and both awarded the Medal of Honor).

What I like about it, and this is coming from what all my buddies from the military say, is how they show the commander far away, with no sense of whats going on, and the leaders of the operation, trying to lead a blind dog off a totem pole. Its disgusting how pathetic the operation is carried out by guys with no knowledge aside from military intel (HAHAHAHA).

Special effects and camera work were amazing.

Brian - watching that movie pisses me off more and more that Somali's are ****ing everywhere in this state.

Yeah, there are some areas outside of Boston (houses and whatnot) with a **** ton of Somali's. People I know who work EMS in this area call it "The Mog" it is so bad.

Where's my thriller/horror buffs at? Suko, Frosty... What's up? But it's for everyone, it's not a horror at all. Just a weird ass movie.

This movie Joshua is the king of psychological thrillers. It really fvcks with your head on what it was really about once it ends.
