I like the idea, but Act of Valor was almost unwatchable. The acting was probably the worst I have ever seen.

I'd never seen The Shawshank Redemption before. My girlfriend convinced me to watch it. Really good movie.

Awesome movie, probably in my top 3 or 5 favorite movies of all time. It's also one of the movies i've watched the most too. I am surprised you've never seen it before. I see it on TV fairly often and it's a highly regarded movie but many.

Saw four good ones recently:

The Hobbit: A little too much humor amongst the Dwarves but otherwise a real good movie. Miss the gratuitous violence we see in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy but lots of fun.....I know some of the critics thought it should have ended with one movie but I think the storyline could justify two more.

The Bay- A Barry Levinson film involving a small seaside town that endures some kind of Viral/Parasitic outbreak. It is shown through the eyes of witnesses who survived the attack. Genually creepy and believable. Some nasty scenes with the Parasites.

1408- A Stephen King short story starring John Cusack. Cusack's character writes books about Haunted Hotels he has traveled to over the years, winding up in a Hotel in NY called the Dolphin. Pretty good!

SilverLining Playbook- Thought Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley cooper were really good.

Django Unchained surprised me. I did not enjoy the Kill Bill movies or Inglorious Basterds at all. And I was scared this was headed that direction when they kept introducing side characters like the hillbilly girl with the axe and mask, but it never culminated in to anything stupid. The plantation shoot out was a bit silly, but the deliberate silly parts were comedy gold, had good pacing for a long ass movie, and just fun all around.

I've been watching the Masters of Horror again from the first season, simply sublime regarding some of the episodes!
