Gladiator...can never get enough of this movie. And has some of the best lines and snippets of dialogue ever - nearly every scene has something quotable in there. Great movie!

Watched two recently that were good..."The Wronged Man" and "The Green Butchers" The second one is a foreign film and starts out a little slow but gets good quickly.

Watched a good WWII movie tonight called Max Manus: Man of War - a Norwegian film about that country's resistance/underground movement against the Germans. It was pretty good, though pretty standard stuff - but I find it interesting that some of these lesser known European countries are producing good films about their WWII history.

Others I've seen recently which were similar, but also quite good, include the Black Book from Holland, Katyn from Poland, Downfall from Germany, and Flame and Citroen, from Denmark. Max Manus was just as good as these ones and, if you can sit through the subtitles, very interesting too.

Caught the Extended edition on blu ray of Leon: The Professional the other day - one of the best and underrated movies of the 90s. Jean Reno was just plain awesome in this one, and so was Gary Oldman. Great movie!

Yeah, I had seen the original Theatrical version soooo many times before catching the Director's Cut and it really changed the feel of the movie.

They hint more at a disturbing romance developing between Leon and Matilda in some of those cut scenes. Would you agree? But the other scenes of them training were cool too. No wonder they would wanna cut those extra scenes out though for the theater release. It changes the innocence of their relationship IMO. BTW, Gary Oldman's Stansfield character was one of the best villains ever IMO.

Absolutley...it had been a while since I had seen it all the way through, and many scenes caught me off guard and had me thinking, o-kaayyyyy....no way would they get away with material like that this day in age. But those extra scenes gave the movie more punch and by the end you felt Matilda's loss more than I did compared to when I first watched the theatrical edition.

Jean Reno sure worked hard to make sure there was no creepy vibe or any ulterior motives seeping through his character - he came across as such a dangerous, but simple and innocent guy.

It really is a terrific movie.
