the potential for Catwoman to suck is definitely strong, but she's been handled very well at times by several different writers.

i think Hathaway actually did a pretty decent job, given the fact that she had almost no screen time to accomplish anything of significance.

of course not. however, i disagree that she's one of the lamest characters. she's not great and i could do without her, but comics are LITTERED with **** characters.

I hadn't seen any of the Batman a week ago... I finally decided to watch the first 2 then go see Batman Rises and I thought it was great! The whole series was great. I rank the movies: Rises, Dark Knight, Begins... but that's just me.

Finally got around to seeing this.

Overall I would say this film was pretty awesome. Yes, did it have flaws? Sure....but screw it -- this is one of the best series' of the last 20 years. "Rises" should have been longer. Can't wait to see this movie when it comes out on dvd.

And i saw it in Imax....15 bucks

Finally saw it this past Wednesday. I liked it. The Dark Knight was better, but like others are saying, a lot of it has to do with Heath Ledger's performance.

My thoughts:

Agreed on the Catwoman points. Her role served very little good to the movie. Hathaway was solid as always, but nothing more than that. One thing that bugged me was the complete lack of a back story to her character. They gave Bane's past his due, why not Catwoman? Come to think of it, I don't even remember the name "Catwoman" being mentioned other than that whole cat burglar sequence.

Is the series the best of all-time? I don't think so. At the very least, it was the top of its era and definitely proved that big-time blockbuster film making still has its place in Hollywood.

I don't buy Nolan stepping away from everything 100%. I think if the money and screenplay were right, he'd return for a fourth go, but like RC said, the fact that Batman and Robin are alive and well likely signals a transition to the Justice League movie.

Also, I know Affleck has been handed the script for JL and that he usually only directs movies if he has a role in them. I know Christian Bale has his flaws, but please keep him as Batman. The last thing I want to see is Affleck in that costume.
